This is a great space and would be a good nature reserve area and a valuable outdoor space however it is somewhat spoiled or maybe that should read soiled. It is a favourite dog walkers spot and is covered in dog poo.(and bags) Its everywhere, roads, pavement, grass. There were a couple of motorised bikes but there seems to be an effort to stop this. There is a little bit if parking but the park road and car park is closed off. Mainly its a doggy toilet.

Fulwell Quarry Nature Reserve
I go here every year during the Sunderland International Air show weekend as it is one of the park and ride locations so I can only give my opinion based on that. Its a nice open generally flat grassed area with some raised areas and trees on the perimeter. It functions perfectly as a car park for events but can see why it could be enjoyed as a nature area which is its main intention. Very little litter and no debris. Perfect for family picnics and plenty open space for kids ball games. Worth a visit in its nature area role.

A lovely place to walk the dogs! Only downside is the amount of motorbikes always flying around but if you threaten to call the police they soon clear off

Fulwell Quarry Nature Reserve
So so so sad the state of this place now. The area itself is so beautiful and used to be perfect for walking and dog walking but now it's just atrocious. Rubbish, waste, excrement (not just dog), broken glass and food waste EVERYWHERE on and around the paths. I expect some litter but honestly it's just horrific up there and I now avoid it all together despite living very close by and having a dog. As you get further in it does clear up but not worth trudging through the nasty parts to get to it. A community clear up would be amazing but it would probably end up the same again =(
