We rented some gravel bikes for King Alfred Way 4 day tour. These guys are tops - highly knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful, really supported our trip and provided great bikes and equipment to ride with. Couldn't recommend more highly.!!.

Fantastic service and high quality bikes at Cuckmere Cycle Company. We hired the kids trailer which was perfect for taking them to the beach. Bikes and accessories in excellent condition and lots to explore in the area. A great afternoon cycling in Sussex!

We rented 4 bikes from Cuckmere Cycle Co (3 mountain bikes and an e-mountain bike) to cycle through the trail in Friston Forest which was awesome for us as first-timers. The guys in the shop were great with the advice they gave us to help us get the most out of our experience. The bikes were in excellent condition and of very good quality. Very impressed!

We rented 4 e bikes + a bike trailer ( for our 3 year) and had an amazing experience cruising around this beautiful area. All of the bikes were top notch and the e mountain bike was particularly nice! Richard is a great guy and made everybody feel at home. We’d highly recommend this place! So convenient to the bus stop as well. Would definitely return.

Super friendly people. Very good at sizing you and recommending a comfortable bike. This is also a great place to hire bikes at affordable prices and ride around seven sisters and explore the local area. I highly recommend!

We hired three bikes from Cuckmere Cycles in late June 2023 to cycle the King Alfred’s Way. Richard and the team were exceptionally helpful, professional and friendly from the first phone call, and put together a tailored hire package for our 4 day gravel cycle trip. The bikes were very high quality, good value and we were really happy to find Cuckmere Cycles.To add to the awesome bikes, they were able to provide SPD pedals (for our MTB shoes), helmets, bike packing kit, puncture repair kit, bike lock and water bottles (super helpful as we were travelling from Aus and couldn’t bring this gear ourselves)!We had a real blast on the bikes, skimming across the terrain and flying down and up the hills (they were so lightweight). The condition of the bikes and quality was evident, as brakes, gears and general drivetrain didn’t show any signs of fatigue at the intense dust, kilometres and hours we put them through. The bikes were also very agile, comfortable and grippy, helping us navigate even the more technical rocky and sandy terrain with ease.While there were many challenges on the route (like the ruts, sandy section and overgrown paths) the only challenge with the bikes came from one of the wheels being prone to punctures, but Richard was fantastically responsive, providing advice and support on the go which was so appreciated.We would definitely hire from Cuckmere Cycles again, and want to thank Richard, Will and the team for going above and beyond to make our adventures on the King Alfred’s Way so epic! Loved it. The bikes were great, super well maintained. Superb location - lots of trails and the South Downs in easy reach.

Great experience - good quality mountain bikes in good condition, and a great location for rides in Friston Forest, Cuckmere Valley and up onto the South Downs for spectacular views. Made for an excellent day trip from London - will be back again in the Spring. Thanks too Richard for the coffee and for hosing down my friend's bike at the end of the day!
