Excellent!! A lovely 12th century building full of interesting items, beautiful font and wall paintings too.The external Norman work rewards a look and don't miss the South door with it numerous scratch dials..!!

Come here if you want to be transported back in time. Remote and original with thatched roof and apsidal chancel, wall paintings and loads of original features. Looked after by the CCT St Margaret's is open to the public. On the day I visited someone had taken their KFC to eat in the choir pews and not cleared up their rubbish!

So pleased St Margaret's was open when I visited. A simple church but some stunning features. The two norman decorated doorways particularly are amazing for a little one-time parish church. These are an equal to our great cathedral doorways. The norman round tower isn't too common either but the decoration around the top is lovely. And thatched! Quite deserving of its 'almost perfect' epithet. It's really so deeply saddening that this beautiful historically important church has been vandalised. When I visited it appeared that windows had again been broken and leaded lights damaged to the window adjacent to the pulpit. The mindlessness of the person/s who did this is beyond comprehension. Genuinely and indescribably sad.

Discovered St Margaret's whilst on a walk from London, a real gem. Isolated setting, beautiful church with a very impressive Norman arched doorway. Great place for a coffee when out walking, (though no benches)
