Sterling Foods to Go - Salford

What's happened to this USUALLY excellent shop ? We travel to shop at Sterling Meats shop on Salford precinct as the whole family enjoy the quality of the produce there, but it's gone up in price (quite a lot in percentage terms) and the quality has gone down. We bought a 10 pack and a 6 pack of the salt and chilli chicken chunks today and they were half the size of what they usually are, totally unfair Sterling Meats.

Best sausages in the uk hands down. As a Dane I find it hard to enjoy any sausages in the uk. This place has the best and they are so cheap too! Had the ribs and they are 9/10 as well. If u live near Salford I can highly recommend. Can’t beat their prices

Bought 2kg of chicken breasts from here and they smelt off as soon as I got them home. Cooked some in a marinade and they still tasted as they smelt when I opened them. All went in the bin

Working in close proximity to the Salford Shopping Centre, I can easily hop over the road to get a great Latte but I can also find the most wonderful selection of fresh meats, rotisserie chickens, spices, takeaway meals and much more at Sterling Meats. The products are so fresh, well packaged and incredibly well priced. The store is clean, everything is correctly labelled and the staff are friendly and helpful. What a little gem.

Shocking quality, better pork pie out there for half the price (filling inside was black and tasted if beef spread), bought ribs but no meat on them at all. Bacon has no taste and filled with water, I fry my bacon but with this stuff it was being boiled by the end of cooking due to the amount of water in it. Staff are shockingly rude and ignore you. Never again will I waste money here.

Just opened sausages i bought this week...Christmas morning fry up...total mouldy..but no way to contact them with photo or comment on Facebook..so I posted on my Facebook page,,

Previously known as Crawshaws, they are opposite Iceland and next to Gregg's. They are usually always busy as it seems to be a local favourite. They have a selection of hot foods to takeaway as well as butcher meats, cold snacks and pastries.Food wise we love the sterling boneless box meals. It comes with a choice of drink, chips, nuggets, strips, chicken bites (you can choose which flavour you like) and a spicy chicken fillet. The nuggets and strips are average, the bites are hit and miss depending on which one you prefer. I chose salt and pepper and I didn't like the seasoning as it tasted powdery and weird, nothing like salt & pepper! However the BBQ and salt & chilli ones are lovely. The fillet is my favourite, it's got a nice spicy kick!We have tried buying raw steaks and chicken and they were also nice and affordable.Staff are sometimes not friendly which can put you off at peak times but I'd still return for a quick bite. Overall give them a chance and see if you like.

Bought the chicken curry today & OMG it was as if someone had poured a full pot of salt in it!! Could not even taste the curry as the salt completely overpowered it. Love this place but sorry never again.
