We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely come back again! We stayed for a night in the Lord of the Manor suite which is beautiful even on a cold December's day the farm has so much character and history and we love the house's style and interior! We were warm and comfortable in our room and enjoyed a lovely farmhouse breakfast hamper in the morning filled with local produce. We also booked a mini spa session and loved it! There were so many little details that made the entire experience relaxing and peaceful, and I would love to come back for a full spa session and stay for even longer next time!Thank-you to Emily and the team for hosting us, Paris for the spa and Jana for showing us round and answering our wedding questions! The walk to the nature reserve to meet the wild ponies is a must!

Recently stayed at Sawcliffe Manor for my friend’s Hen Weekend. We had the most amazing time! We booked the entire Manor House, Party Yurt and Natural Spa for our group. The House was perfect for our big group and the Party Yurt was definitely worth it! We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the Natural Spa watching the sun set over the surrounding fields. If you are looking for a Hen Weekend away I would definitely recommend! The team have been so helpful on the run up to and during our stay here to make sure that our plans for our stay ran smoothly! Thanks again for hosting us and I look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely cosy room! I was worried that it might be cold judging by the other reviews, but my room was toasty and the heating was on all night. I really enjoyed my breakfast basket in the old farmhouse kitchen - it felt really homey and the food was generous/great quality. The spa experience was the best part of my stay - I loved the milk hot tub (I wasn't sure about this when booking) and I even bought some of the creams and herbal teas to take home with me. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be back, I definitely recommend to other guests.

I have stayed here 4 times for work trips and I love it. The last time I decided to invite my wife to come with me to share it. The house is beautiful, the staff are warm and friendly, the food baskets are really delicious (I had a really nice evening meal using an AGAR for the first time). The family make you feel like you’re at home - even the cat. I also tried the spa 2 times which I recommend. I will be back on my next trip!

Perfect place to stay and de stress. Decor was very cool & quirky, Crisp fresh linen on the beds, so comfortable. Evening meal was really enjoyable. So quite with lovely views and gardens. We wasn’t far from home but made us feel like we were especially when we went into the milk bath/spa. Excellent stay and we will return.

I was looking forward to staying here as a stop off on a trip back from Edinburgh as a part of my husband's birthday weekend. The experience itself was quite pleasant but sadly the (mis)management of the place makes it so stressful to deal with and, ultimately, expensive, that it is not at all worthwhile whatsoever.Firstly, the family that run the place theoretically work in hospitality, but you would never know that given that they do everything, and I mean everything, remotely so there is literally zero human contact. To check in I had to input a photo of my ID into a sketchy third party app. I was so wary of this I nearly canceled my stay (and wish now that I did). Then they proceed to send such a barrage of long emails with information about check in, etc it was impossible to try to follow in any detail while we were traveling. Alas, we arrived around 6 pm to find it completely desolate with overgrown grounds and wondered if we were even in the right spot. We found our way inside and to the room, which was nice, though not as clean as it could be. Generally the place is pretty run down, though definitely has some charm. We had decided in advance to not bother driving somewhere to get dinner, we were with our 11 month old and from looking at the map the nearest decent place looked to be at least a 15 minute drive, so we begrudgingly decided to book in the (very overpriced) pie dinner. This proved to be as uninspired as we feared. The breakfast, too, for an extra £15 per person, was not impressive (and included just one egg per person). After each meal we tidied up the kitchen a bit, rinsing off and stacking our plates next to the sink (I discovered a washing machine which I would have loaded our dishes into it but it was already full).I was therefore incredibly unhappy to receive an email from Em after our departure, firstly basically accusing me of stealing one of their sample lotions from the room and then saying they were adding an extra charge for cleaning up the kitchen after us. An extra charge, when we'd already paid £60 for some, in honesty, horrible pies and crusty cheese and then another £30 for an incredibly unimpressive breakfast that we had to cook ourselves. After some back and forth with Em in which I made it clear I was very unhappy about this, she ceased replying to me and charged my card anyway. Not to mention we paid another £90 for the two hour spa session, which was nice, in honesty, and the women who showed up in the morning to show us how to use it were pleasant. Hence giving 2 stars instead of 1.In total I willingly agreed to pay £270 for a one night stay including two mediocre meals and one pleasant spa experience and then was forced to pay another £30 for a cleaning that any reasonable person would expect to be included for what they're charging for their food (we could have had a lovely gastropub meal for the same price, which we wouldn't have had to cook ourselves and then scrub the kitchen clean afterwards)A quick note about being accused of stealing their sample lotion - I said I have no idea where it could be

Upon our booking at sawcliffe manor, myself and my two friends (one who has been suffering with a chronic illness since June 23) were incredibly excited to spend a night away with the opportunity to relax in the natural spa and feeling the three hour train journey would be worth it for the beautiful location. However our whole experience has been anything but nurturing and relaxing.Unfortunately on the morning of our booking our trains were cancelled due to the national weather emergency that was storm babet. There were an abundance of national articles and advisory to not travel due to people losing lives and the serious effects of flooding, across the country. Particularly, in the areas surrounding Grimsby and Scunthorpe. Our trains had been cancelled and refunded on the morning due to a river forming across the track. That combined with road flooding the loss of lives of people and the advisory to not travel we faced no option but to inform Em and explain to her the situation.Unfortunately we were met with numerous automated responses regarding the cancellation policies. one which stated that in the case of a natural disaster there would be eligibility for refund. However, Em refused and blamed us entirely on the fact we couldn’t get there, and continued to provide very little support or understanding regarding the situation. We had even asked if we could change the dates so that she wouldn’t be losing any money and had also told her to offer the food that we had booked to other guests as we felt guilty that it would be wasted after already being prepared.Overall, a getaway that was meant to be about healing and relaxation for my chronically ill friend and also an opportunity to be in a quirky place, has become nothing but a loss of a lot of money, lack of empathy and what I can only describe is feeling like we have been robbed from any decent human communication.I am let down, disappointed and will not be recommending a stay at sawcliffe manor to anyone!!! Save yourself from stress and a loss of money!

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. The owner (the new owner of mummy and daddy’s money) thought she was better than everyone. Just because your mummy and daddy left you a lot of money does not make you any better than anyone else. Be humble. As you have have done nothing but sponge

Beautiful, cosy and homely rooms in a gorgeous , traditional style manor house, in beautiful surroundings, at an extremely reasonable price. It is self check-in but don't let that put you off, help is always at hand and you will still be made to feel welcomed and looked after.Perfect for a relaxing overnight stay, the beds are incredibly comfortable and you're provided with plenty of tea and coffee! I definitely intend to visit again to try the spa.
