We have had a very good experience working with Darren on our extension project. His manner and approach help debunk the impression (whether deserved or not) of architects as being somewhat aloof. He is professional and friendly and has a sound grasp of what is real and achievable. He has designed our kitchen/diner side extension to fit seamlessly with our existing property and with our working budget in mind. We have appreciated the work he has done with regards to preparing submissions for planning and building regulations and he has always been ready to respond when questions have arisen. We are at the build stage now and are very excited to see the extension developing following Darren's plans. Spitfire Architecture would be top of our list of recommendations to anyone looking to make improvements to their home!

Great service from the team at Spitfire, we didn't fully appreciate the work that was involved until the build of our single storey extension was completed - it looks absolutely stunning!Planning and all the paperwork etc went relatively smoothly, and communication was great, and we were kept informed of what we needed to do.Would highly recommend Spitfire, thank you Darren and Amanda!

Spitfire Architecture helped us with the plans and planning application for our partial garage conversion and kitchen extension. Both Darren and his wife were extremely friendly, helpful and professional and went above and beyond to help us and answer any queries we had. The drawings were returned in a timely manner and any tweaks made as necessary. Unfortunately our build has taken longer to finish than anticipated (thanks to covid and unreliable builders) but that has nothing to do with Spitfire Architecture. In fact they were extremely helpful in trying to recommend other local firms that they had previously worked with to try and help us.We are almost at the finish line now and can't wait to share our before and after pictures with Darren and Amanda, and to also thank them for all their help and support. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Amanda and Darren of Spitfire architecture are both very professional, reliable, responsive, knowledgeable and wise. I've worked with them on more than one project and their knowledge of the planning system is priceless. Their thoughtfulness and interest in design is superb .Over and above the technical competence, they really took an interest in what we were trying to achieve and that's what really made the difference. We used Spitfire to design our extension. Darren (the Designer) listened to what we wanted and came up with a design which we are thrilled with. Darren is very approachable and helpful when we have needed clarity on any issues. Apart from the design, Spitfire handled all the pre-build paper work, including the submission for planning permission and building regulations and handled any other issues up to the start of the build I would have no hesitation in recommending Spitfire.

Darren has provided and excellent, professional and thorough service as part of our loft conversion and ground floor reconfiguration project on our bungalow. As has been commented on in previous reviews Darren is a very friendly and approachable in his manner, and takes the time to talk through all elements of a project and provide sound advice to help inform design and build decisions.The whole spitfire service is extremely comprehensive, but flexible as well; and Darren adapted his service to our particular needs right from the start. Darren was able to tailor his services to cater for exactly what we needed, and when.At the start of the project, we had some initial ideas about what we wanted to achieve, and Darren took the time to work through the design with us in detail to get every part exactly right, providing advice on how achievable things were, and on what would work to keep costs within budget.Darren was able to articulate to us clearly the process behind planning permission and building regulations applications (otherwise a somewhat inaccessible process for the layman) and guided us through each step to achieve what we wanted.Darren has always been quick with a response and open to discussion when any questions have arisen - and has only been a phone call or e-mail away if we needed any help.The project is currently being built, and having the consistency of a solid design and a full set of approved plans has given us the confidence we needed to press ahead with the project as designed. During the initial build stages Darren has provided support and advice on the design directly to us and to the builders, and has supported us in achieving the original plans. We are a few weeks away from completion, and are very excited to see the plans taking shape.I would highly recommend Spitfire Architecture to anyone thinking of undertaking a project to improve their home!

Spitfire Architecture have been amazing - I got in touch with them after we had an issue with a previous architect and I'm so sad I didn't work with them right from the beginning.
