I had planned on staying in this hostel for one night but had some plans change so I had to check out early. However, I did spend a few hours in the room and using the facilities and it is a very nice hostel! The sheets, beds, rooms, and bathroom were so clean. The building itself is really cool and has a classic, historic feel to it. There’s a bar at reception with lots of seating and a good ambience. If I’m ever back in Edinburgh I will definitely be booking this hostel and hopefully be able to stay longer!

If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs if you're going to stay in the larger rooms. I stayed in the room of 24 beds. Too much noise and the hostel is on the main road so you get a lot of traffic noise as well. Not the hostel's fault or the fault of people that were doing thier best to stay quiet. The kitchen is pretty small but it has everything you need. Pillows are thin. You don't get a free towel. The positives are that the ceilings are high so it doesn't get too stuffy, the hostel is warm, staff are nice and the location is lovely.Overall it is worth it for the money. I'd come here again but to a smaller room.

Very good Hostel! Good location, private restrooms in the room, and very clean (cleaned every day). 3 bedded bunkbed. Kitchen well equipped. Decent location, 30 minutes from the coach station. I really missed bigger lockers in the rooms and breakfast.

Hotel was clean specially I stayed room 5 and there were shower and toilet in the room which was good. For check in do not come before 15:00, otherwise you have to wait in reception. I Recommend people to stay 6 bed maybe because 3 bed in one bunk is too many. Also, they dont tell you which bed is yours, so u just go to room and choose any bed but bottom one is not make me feel relax. For £18, it was great place specially for Edinburgh because most of the hotels price start from £200-£250.

This was a pleasant surprise. I had used a hostel a month ago, which wasn't the best, so it was with some trepidation I booked this one. It was worlds apart from the first one. Eveything from the location to the cleanliness, and just all round vibe was vastly superior. It is on a lovely, quiet street, but within easy access to most things. Welcoming foyer, nice staff, secure and safe, clean, comfy, cosy beds. I was in a female only dorm of 10,which was fine. No noisy people, all very quiet and respectful. Triple bunks, compact, but warm and clean. Power station at the head of each bed (a nightlight, 2 USB sockets, and a plug socket). Nice, thick carpets throughout, the ensuite shower and loo very clean too, and even large fluffy towels and a hairdryer are provided. Secure keycard entry to the hostel and the dorm. Lockers provided for a returnable £1,and coathooks. I was very impressed. Lovely outside, foyer, and bar/chill area which you can eat in. Good range of drinks to purchase, plus a tea/coffee making machine, which the staff are happy to make for you at £1 per cup. Large tv wall mounted in bar area too.. I sat in the cosy bay window nook to eat my snacks. The hostel closes at 11pm,and checkout is at 10am. I would stay here again for sure. Very reasonable to book in advance for an overnight stay.. The Spanish staff member on duty was very nice too.

The female shared rooms are super safe and I really had a great experience both with the staff members and with the other girls renting the room. The location is very central, just a 20 minutes walk from princess street.Considering that I usually have bad experiences with hostels, especially when it comes to safety, I can rate this as the best hostel I have been so far.

The hostel was absolutely filthy. The staff were very ignorant and nasty. The kitchen is filthy and should be shut down. The bathrooms are smelly. The beds are crawling with bed bugs. The so called" manager" is more interested in chatting up young lads and making a pest if himself. It's a disgrace. The housekeeping crowd are more interested in taking loads of smoke breaks and drinking coffee than doing what they are paid to do ........

The hostel was clean and comfy - they had the best blanket I never used! The bunk bad was made of 3 beds, the one on the top was really high. Great location 10/15' minutes walking from the city center. Recommended!
