Excellent food and service, the staff are very polite and friendly ..time from ordering to sevice is fast and food is always hot, the restaurant is very well run, it has a lovely feel to it, always gets booked up so be quick to make a reservation. Forget Miller n Carter Porterhouse is our favourite 100% 5 stars from us

Great Sunday meal with my sister , first time visiting for us. Great service,food was cooked lovely. I had the half chicken which was big, only had very small serving of mash potatoes on my, should be more for price. Beer garden to the rear is a great area.

Went for my 40th birthday it was our first visit. Was blown away with how friendly and helpful the staff were, I got a glass of prosecco, and a balloon on the table was a lovely meal. Will definitely be returning soon.

Anniversary night out the food here was out of this world if you think you had your best steak meal you haven't been to porterhouse by Barlows try it you won't be disappointed

We went at lunch for a family birthday meal! The food and service were good. There was a menu on for one drink and one steak at £20 which was a great price. However there wasn't any veggie options, when we asked the staff they have us the evening meal menu and our family could order what they wanted!Steak was lovely but a little dry on the edges but I think that's down to the amount of people!I would go again!

We visited last Saturday night and it was excellent. My daughter booked for my 80th birthday treat. Sausages were tasty and chips perfect. We came with an 11 year old and he had his first steak which was outstanding. The cornflake tart was to die for and rounded of a marvellous evening. Decor is amazing. WELL DONE SCOTT AND YOUR STAFF. Can't wait to come back.

We had to send one dish back!Delicious food but had to deduct stars for the cutlery not being polished there were dishwasher marks left on all of them, and the special of the noodles was very sour. I must say to their credit they replaced the dish quickly and without fuss so I've increased my rating to four stars.Our friend is used to Asian food and eats it on a regular basis and he said the noodles were definitely off. Other customers were questioning the flavour but the chef was saying that it was correct. We feel the flavour profile was not balanced. Maybe too much lime juice was added to the miso?The steaks and mixed grills however were perfect. The ribeye cut like a knife through butter. The meat was so tender. Even the grilled herb tomatoes were so ripe and delicious. The chips were near perfect crunchy crispy and fluffy on the inside. They soaked up the vinegar perfectly which cut through the oil of the chips. Altogether a marriage of barbecue flavours that go together perfectly.We had the local IPA and a cider which paired perfectly with the meals.The restaurant was busy with local regulars and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Every request we made was met with a courteous no problem" reply. Service was impeccable.The desserts for those in our party who could manage them were also delicious. There was a Mars bar Cheesecake and a kinder bueno tart which was dense chocolate. Highly recommended if you still have room after your main course! (I didn't!)"
