Thatched House
Asked for a “plain” southern fried chicken burger and coke paid £15, they brought out the burger with mayonnaise and salad in and when I asked to have a new burger they refused and said they couldn’t cook me another chicken breast instead they can offer me a fresh bun, certainly won’t be spending my money here again

We booked a table for 2pm, a week in advance. To arrive and be sat outside the toilets, as in touching distance. To then go and order to be told there's no roast dinners, no children's roast dinners, no Mac and Cheese, basically nothing left available. Why accept a booking if you can't facilitate it? Or surely if you know you are that busy prepare more food?

Visited a little while ago with family. Fantastic atmosphere, our table looked out onto the water and the views were fantastic. Staff were incredibly friendly and polite. Food was served in good time and was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return again when we're in the area

We were a party of 6. 2 of us waited a lot longer for our meals. When my husband's arrived the meal was cold in the middle. Eventually mine arrived and it was burnt. My husband's meal was replaced and the second meal was fine.The staff were kind and apologetic and thinking after I think I should have sent my meal back too but I wasn't sure how they would react. It seemed the simple fish and chip meals they could cope with but not the special more expensive meals on the menu.I noticed they are asking for chefs so perhaps this is why?

Friendly & welcoming, excellent service.I dined there with 2 of my pals, 1 of whom had the Hunters Chicken, she said it was the best she'd had in ages, my other pal had one of the burgers, he also said it was the nicest he'd had in ages.I went with the Traditional Beef & Ale pie, this came with chips & purple tipped Broccolli, & gravy.I must say, it was by far the best pie I've had since I was a child.The pastry was melt in your mouth & chunks of meat in a luvly rich gravy, that I barely touched the extra gravy that came with the meal.Well done to the staff at the Thatched House.I look forward to tasting the Apple & Blackberry crumble pie next time as it sounds delicious.

Fantastic pub in a fantastic area. Every seat has beautiful scenery which is the perfect compliment for the excellent food, service and atmosphere. The decor in the pub is light and inviting and feels clean yet homely. Friendly staff are always available and eager to help out in any way they can. My new favourite place! Special shout-out to Bev, Collette, Rachel and Sarah.

The staff are really helpful and friendly.they made all 3 of us myself missis and our dog really welcome. The food was great the service was great. Our dog loved the doggy ice cream. We took part in the pub quiz great fun and a good evening great atmosphere. We will be there again in near future. X

The Thatched House was lovely,the roast Turkey was gorgeous, and the roast Lamb shank was also very good. The service was excellent and the pub was decorated brilliantly. Well worth a visit.

Very pleasant and friendly pub. Very relaxed atmosphere. There is plenty of seating and easy to plan for special occasions. Local to my 93 year old father who likes his meals there along with his pint of Guinness.

Lovely location by the sea with views of the Eastney part of the harbour. Service is great and that staff are very friendly and accommodating even for young babies providing a high chair. They do two pub classics for under £15 which is ideal for a nice lunch or dinner out. Nice hot chips, the meals were nicely presented and good for the price. Would come for drinks in the sun ☀️
