Stockton House Weddings

We find ourselves at a loss for adequate enough adjectives to describe just how extraordinary this wedding venue is. Nothing about it is average and unless you've had the privilege of getting married there, it would be hard to fully appreciate the magic that Stockton House holds.Our journey with Stockton House began in 2021 when the building was undergoing renovation. Despite the hard hats and high-visibility jackets, we were captivated. It possessed a unique personal feeling we hadn't encountered in the 12+ venues we had visited. As the months passed, the building's transformation unfolded, surpassing our wildest dreams. The team kept us engaged with development photos and frequent invitations to witness it’s progress.Early on, Amy and Ellie became integral to our wedding experience. They provided unwavering support through texts, emails, and valuable ideas, even influencing our choice of napkins and tablecloths, all whilst giving us constant words of encouragement.Stockton House understands that a wedding revolves around your loved ones. They encourage you to involve them in the planning process. Our menu tasting wasn't just for us, but four additional guests too. It quickly became evident that no detail was too small for the Stockton team, who were dedicated to perfection. Head chef Tom joined us between courses to discuss dishes and ingredient sourcing. The exceptional options made our choices challenging, but Stockton was accommodating when we requested changes, such as a crouton changing to a sourdough crisp or the malbec swapping to a specific Primitivo.When the big weekend arrived, Amy and Ellie were there to guide us through setup and ensure everything ran smoothly. Tom outdid himself with every single food element. From a Thai extravaganza on Friday to venison perfection for 80 guests, and the world's best dessert, Stockton House set a new standard for wedding cuisine. Their take on KFC for evening food and a remarkable 80 person BBQ to continue celebrations the following day, earned high praise. Our foodie hearts swelled with pride as guests and suppliers alike declared it the best wedding food they'd ever tasted.M&S maintained impeccable cleanliness and hospitality, even repurposing some of our décor for a delightful breakfast surprise the following day. We also later found out that Amy briefed the team about us as a couple which added a personalised touch. Our wedding day at Stockton House was flawless, with not a single disappointment -except for the fact that it had to end. However, Stockton won't be rid of us easily; we plan to return whenever possible. We've already stopped by for a catch-up and were welcomed with open arms, a testament to the incredible team.Choosing Stockton House as our wedding venue was the second-best decision we ever made, with the first being our decision to get married in the first place. We can't imagine our day without this extraordinary venue and the exceptional team behind it. Words alone cannot express our gratitude, but we want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My first time photographing a wedding at Stockton House and what can I say. All the staff were amazing, making me feel very welcome and also ensuring that I ate and drank throughout the day. Every photographer appreciates being looked after on a wedding day as it’s a very long day.The venue itself is stunning with lots of amazing rooms in the main house and the gardens are a stunning settings for an outdoor ceremony.Even the sun sets in the right place for incredible golden hour portraits.I want to thank all the staff at Stockton House for making me feel so welcome and I can’t wait to back photographing weddings there soon.

We absolutely loved this venue for our wedding - the stockton house team, the gorgeous outdoor terrace in the sun, and the beautiful wedding breakfast room - it really made our dream come true! If we did it all again, we would rebook Stockton house in a heart beat. The food was the BEST food ever (WOW!!) and we can’t thank all of the team enough!

Where do I start! We have followed Stockton from the very beginning and were initially won over by Marc and Jonathan’s belief in the vision of what Stockton could become with a little TLC. Over the following year we saw the venue grow from an old run-down house to a beautifully renovated Georgian house and dream venue!We arrived on the Friday to decorate the venue and were welcomed by Amy and Ellie, who were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We stopped over the night before the wedding and had a lovely meal with our family, followed by wine tasting in the beautiful wine cellar – a great way to start our wedding weekend.Throughout the day of our wedding, Amy and the Stockton staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel at ease. Anything we needed or wanted, Amy was there to make it happen. The food throughout the day was incredible – we are big foodies and hence food was an important part of the day for us, so we were understandably pleased that many of our guests commented on how delicious their meals were!I’d also like to acknowledge Mandy and Sue, who were there the morning after to serve us breakfast. Both Mandy and Sue were lovely to chat to, and my Grandad took a particular shine to Mandy, who managed to coax him out of his shell and took the time to talk to him whilst we were packing our things. A personal touch that made a big difference.Overall, we couldn’t have dreamed for a better wedding weekend, and without Stockton it wouldn’t have been the same.

Attended Stockton House for a family wedding, wow what a venue with stunning views. The staff were superb & very friendly nothing was to much trouble which made you feel right at home. If you are getting married and you want that extra special touch this is the place to do it. I stayed over in the garden view room which facilitated excellent views for miles around. No hesitation awarding this venue 5 stars.

We got married at Stockton House at the start of May. To put it simply, everything was wonderful! We viewed the property before its renovation, and fell in love with Stockton’s charm. You can see from pictures that the house is beautiful and the location is gorgeous, but it’s the team and the service you receive which really elevates your experience. You are made to feel special, and not just someone else who’s getting married there. Amy, Ellie, Tom, Mandy and Sue and everyone who works there are genuinely lovely people, who go above and beyond to make your wedding day vision come to life in a perfect fashion! Nothing is too much trouble, and I genuinely didn’t want to leave after our wedding weekend!

5 days ago we celebrated our wedding at Stockton House in Shifnal, Shropshire. We paid our deposit in late 2021 to reserve our wedding date for the 15th July 2023.Stockton House and it’s delightful staff: Amy, Tom, Ellie et al, exceeded our expectations and helped to make it a day that we’ll never forget. The secret garden room perfectly held our modest party of 35 guests during the day and 50 for the evening (I believe they will accommodate a maximum of 100 guests). The house and the grounds are beautiful and have a charm you only get with an historic venue. Tom the head chef worked with us to create a delicious menu within our budget whilst accommodating specific dietary requirements that left no guests hungry and who are still talking about the quality to this day.All bookings include the entire house with it’s 7 luxurious rooms with views over the beautiful Apley estate. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and there’s no rush to kick you out as they hold only one wedding per weekend. The two house keepers, Mandy and Sue, were a dream and looked after us beautifully.If you’re after a venue that will create a bespoke wedding day, leave your guests talking about the amazing food and service and leave you with memories that you’ll never forget, look no further. Highly recommended.

The only word to describe this venue is pure magic.Every member of the Stockton House team goes above and beyond to help bring your vision of your wedding day to life. From the bespoke menus that you craft with the uber-talented head chef, Tom, to planning all the wedding day details with the lovely Ellie & Amy, and the wonderful M&S and the front of house team makes you feel totally spoilt and at home in Stockton House. The house is beautifully renovated, full of character and charm.We celebrated our perfect day in September 2023, with 12 family members for our ceremony and private dining experience before 80 of our family & friends joined us for one hell of a party. Enjoyed a fantastic weekend wedding reception & stay at Stockton House in June 2023.The House and Walled Garden Dining Room have both been renovated & built to the highest standard and are a fantastic venue for a wedding reception.The food was fantastic, the service sublime, rooms resplendent and the event as a whole was exceptional.Amy and her team were amazing - always helpful, enthusiastic and well organized. As best man I saw 1st hand how much planning they took off the bride and groom's shoulders and the great lengths they went to ensure that it was a magical day for all concerned.Would 100% recommend to anyone searching for a wedding venue in Shropshire - you need look no further!
