The Pantry Colinton

I like this place, it's nice inside and has plenty seating. Menu has some interesting choices, waffles look to be a popular choice here, the few times I've been it's a regular for families and is child friendly. The only negative is that service has been on the slow side ever l everytime I've been.

The food here is pretty good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and interior. While the waiting staff are friendly, I had to get their attention every single time we needed service. Our order was very slow >30 minutes and heard other tables asking about the wait for their food. We also had an error with the order which added further delays.

Being a Google guide I travel and experience lots of places in the UK and Europe. In this case I discuss it with the restaurant that I would not rate them yet. There is a very good reason for this...benefit of the doubt.I explain: I went there soon after opening and the food was absolutely great. Then I went a second time a month later and as í was so impressed with the food, I asked for exactly the same dishes. I couldn't express my dissatisfaction to the manager as í found it gross. I could not eat it.Having tried the dishes to perfection there was no way I could eat them.So I am waiting to go a third time and ask for the same dishes again. Then I would make my objective review.As I know that generally the food is quite good (they may have had a bad day) I am going now to rate them 3 stars, but as í said this is pending on my third visit, which it could be my last or one of many.The staff and service is outstanding I have to say.Thanks to all my readers.

Good place to meet or read alone. Expected a freshly made smoothie rather than a plastic bottle, and 0.1% avocado didn't really count as avocado in the Savse purple smoothie! Lots of beetroot though. People say it is over-priced, but I guess that reflects the price of running a business in Colinton. Service was good, fairly quick, though I just ordered a drink. Will come back for food...

What a great place for lunch/ brunch, service was excellent and speedy, food was top drawer, I had the 'sunshine on spylaw' with chorizo, could've gone back for seconds!

Nice place good service: just don't order the cheesecake if you like cheesecake...:-(

Really like this place, nice and bright, good number of tables, quite casual, with a nice relaxed feel to it. Coffee nice and reasonably priced, would definitely recommend.

Very good food at very reasonable price. They have a branch in Stockbridge as well. It's a bit hard to find a space to park here so you might have to walk a bit. Loved at avocado on today with pico de gallo. I'd definitely come back again.

Not only does it look wonderful on the outside AND inside, the staff is wonderful and the food is incredible. You DEFINITELY get your money's worth here!
