Walked in had a look at a couple of tops, I walked straight back out. You can buy brand new tops cheaper. Never step foot in there again

I went yesterday to this charity shop. The lady working/ volunteering there has been looking at me in a strange/defensive way. My baby started crying as soon as I entered the shop and she was staring at me as she was disturbed by my baby crying. I was there with my mum and aunt and they felt the same way. The shop was about to close and she literally throw us out, she opened the door we went out and I said “thank you” as I’m usually polite and respect people volunteering. She did not say anything and did not throw out other people. I felt discriminated and I believe this person shouldn’t be allowed to volunteer there as she does not have any empathy/ customer service skills. I felt really disappointed and did want to go back and express my feelings but she has a really aggressive facial expression and I felt intimidated. Please do not allow those people to work in charity shops. Absolutely will never go there again.

Genuinely think the people doing the pricing do do while high. The point of charity shops is two fold, make money for charity and help the community with low priced products for people who can't afford new. My last visit there there were: graphic novels and books priced higher than the RRP. A pair of shoes being sold for £55, they are only £15 brand new at Office. Primark ties being sold for more than they cost new. Poundstock Halloween mask bring sold for £6. I could go on and on. No wonder the top dogs at Oxfam are on six figure salaries. Why would anyone want to buy something worn and second hand for more than it costs brand new? Please donate your items elsewhere. With all the recent negative press about Oxfam support charities who don't have such dubious business practices.

Its a large shop with a huge selection of books, clothes and bric a brac. Its a little all over the place so you might need to give yourself a bit of time to rummage through everything. The prices vary from cheap to more pricey! You can still grab a bargain though and there are planty of labels to choose from. Definitely worth a pop in.
