Book lovers heaven! Lives up to its name. The decor in this place is like stepping into a bookish wonderland with a huge selection of drinks. Beautiful ornate fireplace at its heart, incense burning and some really cool posters inside. Prints of classic books make up the wallpaper. Love the furniture also. Staff are super chatty and friendly, drinks are very reasonably priced. Good selection of beers and ciders. The atmosphere is super relaxed, great for a quiet drink with some friends or even a solo drink whilst you tuck into a new book. Great playlist also. My local and fav in Dundee!

Decent prices, live music on Saturday night and very busy. Got a comfy seat and enjoyed the music. Very Harry Potterish feel to the place

Friday nights at the George Orwell are so super chilled, incense burning, quiet conversations and bar tenders who remember your order! Just as it should be! We travel quite far to enjoy this place and it's worth it!

Interesting pub with a decent landlord. Games on offer whilst enjoying the good selection of drinks. Landlord gives good recommendations and is quite the friendly chap. My visit was during a quiet time and this meant it was easy to get the comfortable seats. Would go back again!

Dark and cosy bar with a trendy and friendly crowd and awesome bar staff. Drink selection is limited but is very considered and they will have a drink for anyone's taste. It can get busy and it can get loud, but almost always have a great night out here.

Hadn't been in this bar in over 20 years - stunned at how cool it is now. Great atmosphere.
