I visited this Post Office on Friday 28th May 2023 to post a small parcel.I asked the gentleman at the counter for 'second-class signed for/recorded delivery'.The gentleman at the counter told me that the price was £8.95. Because of the high price inflation we are experiencing and Royal Mail's recent price increases, I thought the price was high for 'second-class signed for/recorded delivery' but perhaps not unexpected given the very high price inflation at the moment.When I got home, I checked the Royal Mail website price page and I found that I had been charged for Royal Mail's 'Special Delivery by 1pm' delivery service. If I had been told at the Post Office counter that the £8.95 price was for 'Special Delivery by 1pm' then I would have said 'No. I want 'second-class signed for/recorded delivery.'.I feel that I have been mis-sold a product by the gentleman at the Post Office counter. I have made a formal complaint to the Post Office. I have also reported this Post Office branch to Edinburgh Trading Standards. Laura Gilzean from Trading Standards contacted me and told me that she was going to visit the Post Office to 'provide advice and guidance in relation to the matter of pricing of products and services'.But I am still out of pocket at the moment. I have paid almost double what I should have to post the parcel. I feel ripped off.I will see how the Post Office does with my formal complaint about this Post Office branch.

Staff are rude and abrupt. I have had 2 parcels go missing which never seems to happen at any other branch? Going by these reviews I am worryingly not alone. I would rather walk or drive to the branches at Corstorphine or Asda for a professional service.

I have never come across anyone so rude in all my life as I have in this shop. You never get a smile from the man who runs it. If you are only topping up electric or gas and not buying anything from his shop he doesn't like it and will make you aware of it. Today I went in with my cost of living energy voucher and he was very rude and slammed the receipt on the counter instead of handing it to me.

Post Office is a disgrace here, they ALWAYS overcharge for postage, you do not get proper receipts and half the time the consignment never reaches the recipient. The staff is rude, and you can not even reject, they take the letter first, do not ask about the service you would like to use, put the stamps etc. on and THEN tell you how much to pay, by which time you realised you are overcharged, but it is already too late to protest. Avoid, and use a proper office instead.

Only giving one star as you can’t post without it! I have never been treated so rudely in all my life. Went in today to claim my money on my keycards for gas and electricity and the man was unbelievably rude, arrogant and ignorant. Not sure he would even care about the bad review. Disgusting behaviour from a post office owner!!

I had no problems returning Amazon packages at this post office. I didn't do any shopping.

Be wary. You want to send a parcel or letter? They will try to ALWAYS select the most expensive option. Sneaky and will throw-in Parcel force and other services that one definitely does not need. Avoid. Stick with honest businesses

Needed to post a parcel away but royal mail were on strike. As I was leaving that day for holiday, I asked the owner if I could leave it with him for him to post it the following Monday and he was perfectly fine with it. My parcel was sent and received so thank you for that.

It's a post office, and the guy did what was required of him.There are a lot of negative reviews referring to customer service and attitude here, but I had no issues whatsoever.If you expect the guy behind the counter to be your best friend you'll be disappointed, but I really can't complain. He was not over- friendly, but he was absolutely not rude.The only issue I have is that when I went to collect a £2500 UPS delivery from this post office, it was stored on the floor in a customer area that could have been picked up by anyone. Otherwise I'd have given this a 5 star review as all went well on this occasion.It's a post office/collection point and I collected my delivery.

Absolutely rude staff. I believe it's a couple that runs this place both are equally rude and nasty people. I definitely won't be using this post office again.
