I had been turned down by one other eye clinic for a cataract op, because of having keratoconus, astigmatism and very short sighted. A consultation with Mr de Klerk (very courteous and profession), and he assured me that the cataract removal was possible with a high probability of a good result.A couple of weeks later the op was done, and 24 hrs after the op, my vision in the eye without glasses was so much better that it had previously been with glasses. A very successful result.

I developed one oil drop cataract in my thirties and it was removed this year by Tim de Klerk and the LDA clinic. It was my first significant hospital visit but the whole team made the experience very comfortable and I now have no fear about having the other eye done in the future. I saw instant results; it was a wonderful experience. Tim de Klerk is professional and disarming, and clearly an excellent surgeon - my post-op vision is bang on target and extremely clear - better than I can remember. I visited Mr de Klerk’s practice recently for a routine eye examination. He set forth to do the most advanced eye testing procedure that I have ever experienced. The end result of which revealed that I had Glaucoma - a condition that that could damage the optical nerve and result in blindness! He definitely saved my life! After successful treatment and and a cataract operation, my eye pressures are within the range limits and I can now discard my vary focal glasses. What a fantastic experience! His entire staff and everyone that works there are true professionals and I can recommend him at any time.

Fantastic clinic. I previously had laser eye surgery (15 years ago), but unfortunately recently developed a cataract. This has now been removed, and my vision is back to being as good as, if not better, than after my LASIK procedure all those years ago. Mr de Klerk carried out a thorough examination of my eye prior to the removal of a cataract and the planned procedure was fully explained to me. The operation itself went very smoothly and I was treated kindly throughout by all the theatre staff and by Mr de Klerk who has a very pleasant manner. There followed a check up by phone shortly after and a face to face meeting a month later. Just the best possible outcomes and experience. I have some macular degeneration in both eyes and also cataracts, and recently, even with glasses, I did not meet the DVLA threshold for driving. Mr de Klerk was recommended to me and I am so very grateful. He took time to explain the options to me and I felt confident I was in good hands. I had both cataracts removed, a month apart, and the results were, and are, amazing. I can now drive without prescription glasses as I exceed the DVLA threshold.
