The Gruffalo Trail at Delamere forest. Lovely afternoon out with the family. Picnic area was nice but the toilets weren't the cleanest. Staff were friendly in the cafe.

We've been going to Delamere forest for the summer gigs for years! But we'd not been for a couple of years due to COVID. It was great to see just how much the place had changed and new amenities have been added. It's gone from a good venue to a great venue.

A forest...a vast forest that extends beyond where the eye can see and less than an hour's drive from Manchester.....amazing. We drove here on a short stopover with a vow to return and spend the day. Lots to explore for people of all ages. We saw young cyclists climbing hills on mountain bikes, mature cyclists looking 'the business' families with babies and children, couples and of course there was Liz and I...frazzled after a shopping trip and needing some R and R provided by the canopy of trees. There are many signposted paths but under the canopy is where we remained...bathed by the tree family, feeling swamped by love. We did drop in by the visitor centre and purchased ice cream (honeycomb flavour is to die for) at the cafe. The toilets are scrupulously clean, high five, and the staff courteous and extremely friendly.

Stunningly beautiful forest, great for walking ir cycling. Pay for use car park but worth it. Trails well maintained and suitable for any age. Toilets also onsite and clean.Kids loved the experience, especially the squirrels, (grey only no red squirrels). Cafe on site but we didn't go in. Noticed they have icecream for dogs!
