Mount Lodge

We stayed at this very charming guest house over the bank holiday weekend in a family room.The rates were very reasonable and the host's David and Melanie were equally charming.Very very clean room with all the extras you needed (5 year old son loved the bunk bed)A very quiet location only 5- 10 mins stroll from the beach ( via alum chine) and 20 min walk along promenade to Bournemouth or15- 20 min walk to Westbourne.Breakfast was excellent with a great selection and lovely fresh homade bread in a pleasant room with great seaside decor...We would definitely stay again and wish them all the best for the remaining season and with the continued refurbishment. Garden flat was clean, new bathroom and kitchen. Great base to explore Westbourne. Friendly welcome from owners.

We had a lovely 3night stay we booked for 2 nights n asked to say another night. Nothing was to much trouble. Car parking on the drive.,great. Breakfast was sooo tasty, bacon was fabulous, as for the poached eggs wow perfect. Room spotless. Thanks for looking after us. Ann n Alan xxx

David and Melanie were really kind, very helpful with the children and they even posted my socks back to me that I'd accidentally left in the room. The location is just a stone's throw from a lovely part of the beach with toilet, playground and Italian restaurant. Will visit again.

Excellent place for families. We stayed in the family room - very clean and quite spacious, kids (3 and 5 yes old) loved it. Melanie and David are fantastic hosts, attentive and non-intrusive. Great choice of hot food for breakfast, too. The beach is 5 mins walk down Alum Chine (the magic forest walk as we called it!), and just as you come on to the beach, there's a great pirate-themed playground and an Italian place right next to it to enjoy your coffee & sea views while kids play. Bournemouth Pier is 20-30 mins stroll if you have a pram but views are great and a number of ice cream/coffee stalls and lunch places on the way. Definitely coming back.

Location is great. Its near enough to get to the places but not noisy. Rooms are decent and they do a lovely breakfast. Covid cant be easy on these businesses but the owners really make an effort to make you feel comfortable and at home. We checked into a 4 star hotel and the service given is poor in comparison. We even rang up to enquire if we could have that room back if our reservation wasnt already confirmed at this 4 star but it was. Wishing the Davidsons the very best for all the seasons coming and will probably see you's again in september for the air show. take care guys......

Had the pleasure of staying at the Lodge at the beginning of the month. The new ground floor flat was beautifully laid out, new kitchen, new shower/bathroom, lovely garden with some funky arm chairs to boot!A great welcome and a variety of breakfast options that will make you struggle to walk the 3 minutes to the beach :)We loved it, thanks folks! Definitely be back!

Lovely B&B. Nice welcome, comfortable spotless room. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.
