The Deanes

Please don't be put off by the Ofsted report. I have 2 children who attend the school in years 7 and 9. The Deanes is a great school with a fantastic community spirit. The staff know the children well and have the ability of identifying their strengths, then give plenty of encouragement and opportunities to ensure they reach their potential. The Ofsted criteria does not allow for comment on how a school develops confidence, self esteem and communication skills all of which the school does brilliantly. The new management team are doing a good job, and I am sure that if the Ofsted was 6 months further down the road the result would have been much better. If you want your child to have an all round education don't rule out the Deanes, at least go to the open evening and see for yourself.

I don't know why this school was considered for closure. My time there whilst growing up was educational and inspirational. There were a great bunch of teachers that made it their goal to help us kids grow. What's changed? Class of 83. Thank you Mrs Kemp.

A very good friendly school. Has a good OFSTED report, a gifted and talented programme, good sports, etc. etc. Ideal even if you are out of the catchment area but are looking for a school which will bring out the best in your child.

Learnt so much since being at Deanes, not just academically but its taught me how to become a person. Loved my time at The Deanes and they have helped me through many problems, personal ones as well as academic ones. Thank you so much. Small school makes it feel like a family with a lot of care for you. Everyone looks out for everyone and The Deanes School is amazing.
