My favourite pub in Newcastle since i was student back in 2003. Very big pub with lots of screens to watch sports. Is located in the city centre next to the shops. Sunday roast is amazing and definitely recommended. There is a big variety of beers and ales you can enjoy.

Usually go there for lunch once a week. Usually stuck to pizza as not impressed with the lunch that they serve. Vegetables I find inedible. You can tell the the carrots are cooked from frozen so taste and texture not very nice. Think the same could be said for the other veg. If I have a dinner for a change from pizza I now only have potatoes,Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Quite a few people bring their small children in which is ok but if your looking for a relaxing place to eat without screaming kids best to avoid. Some of the furniture needs replaced. This is just my view as it can get quite busy during the day and I would still go regardless of my my comments above as it's handy to pop in for lunch then pop into Eldon square to shop.

Bit of an odd one as I would associate Stonehouse brand as family friendly eating brand, but when I went it had blasting music playing, the toilets are pretty grim and graffiti ridden and the beer choices are poor. Zero cask beers on. I didn't eat on this visit but I wouldn't be returning for a family meal anytime soon. Only good for watching sport on multiple screens, although even the large screen is stained which kind of typifies the experience. There was plenty of staff on at least.

After a day visiting Newcastle we stopped here for tea after booking online. Some of the group ordered the carvery, that was ok except some of the veg looked like it had sat there all day and had gone dry but the meat was tasty as were the potatoes. Some of the group ordered off the main menu and these we nice and cooked fresh. The desserts were very nice.Apart from the dried out veg we had a nice meal and the staff were very good.

Decent bar service is good food is good, center of town so if you are a driver need to find parking, there are multi story care parks on both sides of the road very close to pub, lots of alternative hostelries on same road very close by

I recently popped in here for bite to eat as I often have drinks in this pub and other than have snacks here I decided to get the carvery which I hadn't had for a while. What a big disappointment. Although the meat was OK, The vegetables, macaroni cheese and the green beans were cold and very over cooked, it just slid down my throat. I wouldn't eat it again unless I was reassured they had up there game. I did imfom someone but they just said I will let them know and that was that. I will return for drinks and maybe snack food but that's it. The toilets for me were OK on this visit but the mens were pretty awful so I was imformed by my friend who i was with although they do have accessible toilets. The goose did look clean and tidy. I wouldn't on this occasion recommend to my family or friends. I will go back but for drinks ☹️
