Castleton is a very nice village, small with a few gift shops and cafes but great surrounding hills and fields, close to the famous blue John mines.

A visitors centre situated in the centre of Castleton, next to a car park.Toilets available.A cafe inside the centre.Inside you will find gifts, descriptive write ups, history and information about the whole peak district, not just the immediate area.Local maps and guide books can be purchased.A great place to visit to assist in any vacation.

Great day out hiking, nice to have toilets in the carpark just before start of our hike, beautiful location and we were lucky enough to have Ideal weather.

A great little visitor centre, with friendly staff, plenty of information on walks in the area, there is a car park but the visitor centre doesn't own it, and is pay and display, it has a café and toilets, there is even a small museum which was very interesting, worth a visit if you're in the area.

We had a lovely day in Castleton. We visited The Three Roofs and the Blueberry Cafe and some of the gift shops. There are also some lovely walks there, the famous caves and mam tor. It's a great day out.
