Newark Post Office

I usually go out of my way to avoid the place!Mostly rude, ignorant and indifferent staff at both the post office counter, bureau de change and shop counters. They are quite happy to overcharge for packages, and treat you with contempt if you question them.One lady is very pleasant and helpful, but will quite happily chat for long periods of time with friends even though there is a queue waiting.The front door is automatic and will take 30 seconds to open halfway then stop, if you push it, a very angry looking woman will shout at you saying ITS AUTOMATIC!"Many post offices are closing and honestly this should be one of them. I always leave feeling angry

I will never ever use this branch agen for the way the lady made me feel as I have walked up to the till (she was doing nothing and there was no que) she ignored me I ask if I could pay to post a card and pay for a the said card the way she looked at me I have never felt so low I ask if there was a reason she looked at me like so she point to a coner in the store said that’s where the que was I said but there was no1 standing there and I had a pram would of had to walk right around the store I ask why she looked at me the way she did then she started the laugh in my face she had blonde hair and glasses I hope she feel happy the way to make another human feel I was treated like a savage for asking to pay for a card I had a word with the manger at this point I was close the tears so the moral of the story I would avoid this post offfice at all cost

since moving back to Newark 3.5 years ago, I have had reason to use their services frequently and found all ladies at the Counters always extremely competent and helpful even when the queues must be frustrating and tiring for them. Can' t understand why not one of them is Post Mistress instead of an older male whom I found rather overbearing on the occasions I could not avoid dealing with him. The location at the back of a sweets and card shop I find annoying and unsuitable,

I use the Post Office regularly and always find the staff friendly and helpful. Justyna, in particular, is always very friendly, chatty and efficient and a pleasure to deal with. Would recommend this Post Office to anyone

Tried to charge me £16 for a small parcel to an inland destination! I took it to another branch and was charged £5 for First Class Signed For. I won't be going to the Paxton's Court branch again.

Male member of staff was rude and quite obnoxious - went to another post office who confirmed that he gave the wrong information to me. This was at one point a friendly place with lovely staff but seems to have changed radically for the worse, perhaps new management?Middleton Road post office is so much better in every way.

This post office is located amongst a large range of card and gift options with a Thornton's, Hallmark and Yankee candle shop which makes it a convenient place to sort a last minute gift. The post office itself though often has very long queues and the service is very inconsistent.

Excellent, didn't queue for very long, staff friendly and helpful. The store is set out in individual sale areas, gifting, balloons for special occasions, Christmas gifts. Really worth a look around.
