This country does not need an outrageously expensive tax funded railway line! We already have trains that never arrive on time and for a fraction of the £200 billion this endeavour will probably end up costing. And stop with PR green washing; destroying the landscape will create new eco friendly zones". Utter tosh."

We DON'T NEED this. We can get to London in 2 hours, that's fine. It's not worth all the money and time. By the time this is finished building, the tickets will be way too expensive for the public anyway - this is being built for the elite businessmen. It's building a bigger barrier between the rich and the poor. Not impressed.

I booked a coach for my wedding. The coach was booked for 6.30 pm having guests arrive at my wedding at 6.50 pm ready for a 7 pm start. I booked a 38-49 Seat Standard Coach for 40 guests. A 30-seater mini bus turned up to collect the guests without any prior notice. When calling the coach company they advised that they decided (themselves) they would do 2 trips. When my family explained that this wouldn't work and asked why they didn't let anyone know as this would delay the entire wedding as we had a 7 pm entrance for the bride and groom, they said - and I quote 'are you telling me how to run my business?!' To top it off, the bus driver demanded money as he said the company had not been paid and he would not move and argued with my family... it had been paid and they were wrong and we had the evidence to prove it.... they didn't care to apologize for the horrible drama they had caused, the fact that guests missed the entrance of the wedding or the fact that we had to pay for taxis even though we had paid for the coach.Absolute disgrace!

So, 200 billion for not even half an hour off the trip?seems as if it being overlooked by chimpanzees, the idea makes sense, but in the current situation the UK has many more severe issues than a marginally faster, highly destructive trainline. Yes the idea is good, but with current technology in the current climate its simply impractical to spend this much money on such a negative trade-off.

Very expensive but great for the environment. Replanting 2x more forest than has to be cut down, Takes people out of their very space consuming and polluting cars and puts them on the train.

Total waste of money. Just for saving a few minutes on a journey. It'd be cheaper to convert existing train lines. Building new lines and roads is just chopping up the coutryside into smaller and smaller blocks. It's a disaster for the ecosystems it passes through.

Greg Simpson, head of strategy is a racist, makes people on his team feel very uncomfortable and comes across as slightly unhinged. Please steer clear of this department if contracting. Save yourself the headache.

Londoners may want easy access to the rest of the country but everyone else is happy to travel as it is. The people of Birmingham were not asked if we want London at our doorstep and Londoners buying our homes. We don't. Stop destroying economies and pricing people out of their own cities.

A £200 billion project that is is completely pointless and that nobody but Londoners want. We have destroyed much of our valuable beautiful countryside. It has also caused many many traffic jams due to work on it which has increased the number of car crashes. The worst thing is the british government only now realise its a waste of money but will not stop construction on it because too much money has already been put into it so they thought they would waste more money for the sake of it. It has had a detrimental effect on the environment. To anybody that supports this I am not shaming you or anything as for your particular job it may help out. I am however up for a civil debate with anybody who wants to I love debates but please if you do only present factual information. Just drop me an email if you do and my mind can be changed and i would be willing to change other to.

Over £100 billion?! What we need is lots of affordable homes, more NHS, more police, more schools, not a useless overpriced railway. There are already 2 railways connecting Birmingham and London. Digitize the signaling systems and you'll get a speed improvement too. SCRAP HS2 IMMEDIATELY!!!
