Big John's Biltong Bar
A rare glimpse of authentic bar culture in London. In England it is rare to find bars (not pubs) as authentic as this. An amazing spot with a perfect vibe and very very good biltong (jerk is my favourite).

Big John's Biltong Bar
Big John's is THE go to pub in Deptford. Big John is the best host you can imagine. It feels like he's inviting us into his living room for a drink and I always want to go back. The homemade (!) Biltong is the best you can get in the city and my partner has reoccurring dreams of the Chili bites, so we have to stock up regularly!Deptford is so lucky to have Big John's as one of the lovely locals that make Deptford so special.

No biltong for me, but the bar is perfect, service was great, and the cocktail i had was lovely. Small cosy place full of vintage maps and bits and bobs. I wish I lived near enough to come here more!

Came in on a whim looking for a bite to eat. The ribs were amazing, great beers, John & Zoe were great hosts and met some great folks. Worth popping in for sure and solidifies Deptford as a place to wonder.

The best place for Biltong and beer in London. Big John is an awesome host, as well as the amazing Biltong at a great price (£3.50 gets you loads!), we tried as a group the ribs and the buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce - would recommend to anyone! Lager, ale and cider on tap, plus plenty of bottles. Cash only, but plenty of cash machines nearby. Cosy place and well worth a visit!!

Tiny place but super cosy. Very “local” vibe and the team were all so friendly and hospitable. Only had beers and biltong this time - both fresh and delicious. It’s also super dog friendly - they even gave me a pack of dog biltong to take out.

I love this place for the kind and lovely staff. Also met some nice people while having a drink. It’s a small and friendly beer bar with great quality biltong and some food. It’s a bug joy to have this in Deptford high street.

I was lucky enough to be taken here by a friend recently and firstly it was my first time trying Biltong, which I absolutely LOVED. If I remember correctly we ordered some chilli bites to enjoy with some guinness and the flavours were incredible, it was a lovely portion for the two of us two share and so flavourful. The atmosphere of this lovely little place is so intimate and friendly as well, it makes for a really welcoming cosy chance for a drink. I also enjoyed the good tunes and awesome decor. Definitely recommend this place and hope to go back.

I never actually drink there but the biltong is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the service is lovely.
