Devon Sculpture Park
A really informative journey learning about wilding a Capability Brown garden with some great sculptures and superb food. Not to mention amazing views across the Exe Estuary and out to sea (It made us want to wild our own small garden) the 100 year old yew in the church graveyard is beautiful

Amazing and unique , challenging and humbling. Also very inspiring with lots of ideas of how to connect and act upon the concept of rewilding.

I would not call it a sculpture park. A 're-wilding' park with various pieces of artists work would be a better description. There was no information about the artists / concepts to read. The introductory talk needed handouts to underpin the history, organisation, art and concept behind this park. It was left to the visitor to wander round with a poorly drawn map and we thought it was expensive. Luckily it was a nice day so lovely views but nowhere to shelter if the weather was poor.

Devon Sculpture Park
Overpriced and underwhelming. Our group visited over the bank holiday. We spent £50 on lunch and £48 on entrance fees. The lunch was simple but good. The ‘art’ was utterly underwhelming. The website heads any critique off at the pass by suggesting that some people may not be opened-minded enough to appreciate it! The loo - a dirty eco toilet in a shed up the hill - was appalling. There was a loo in the private area but this was offered grudgingly. The one redeeming factor was the location and amazing view, but this was not worth the price of itself. We got great views from a walk in the woods nearby. Not recommended.

It's a beautiful little place with stunning views. The gardens have a trace of the original Capability Brown design with a nice lake and some ground works. The summer house is very pretty and includes a non-dog friendly cafe inside with outside seating that does have good views. In the field and wood around the summer house are a few spray painted logs and what look like a few shop mannequins painted and posed. There's a few other odd things, some made of old metal dotted around or pinned to trees. The artist in residence is very friendly and happy to explain what is going on but other that that and a few hand drawn signs there's not a lot of information. It's a nice enough place with good coastal views, but I felt the nearby Mamhead View Point and Sensory Trail Walk area with it's lovely walk provides equally good views and a much nicer walk.Compared to most attractions in Devon it's quite expensive. For £12 charged here you can get in to RHS Rosemoor (£11.80) which is a vast 240 acres rather than a few acres here and you'll see gardens that are world class. If you want to see lots of art Broomhill has more variety and far more to see for just £5. I'm afraid this place didn't represent good value for me especially as the nearby Mamhead walk is free to park and enjoy, hence my disappointment. However, if you like the kind of art on display here and want to engage with and support the artist then it may well be worth it for you.

I recently visited the Devon Sculpture Park specifically for the 'wilding' project tour given by the owner, Philip. Philip gave us a thorough tour of the park, explaining the concept of 'rewilding' and the actions they have taken over the last 6-7 years to 'wild' the land to create three habitats of: open shrubland, open grassland and woodland. We enjoyed seeing the grazers used to maintain these habitats, particularly the alpacas!Philip was extremely passionate about the project as well as informative and I came away with a much greater understanding of the rewilding process and felt inspired to make changes in my own environment. The whole family were very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed tea and delicious homemade cakes and lemonade on the terrace after our tour in the lovely setting of the Capability Brown Gardens.

Devon Sculpture Park
Terrible. There were a handful of dull sculptures of the human form. The rest of the exhibition consisted of dead wood spray painted silver and a few bits of wood or pipe lent up against each other. It felt like the whole thing was knocked together in a weekend. I'd conjecture that the only thing they really invested in is the website. Total ripoff. If you want an actual sculpture experience go to Broomhill in North Devon. It's cheaper and probably has 50 times as many pieces. I can't fathom the other positive reviews here as I felt this was basically a total scam. If the reason I'm so disappointed is because there was a lot more than just the exhibition to see, then you guys really need to put some signs up. Talking about signage, there was a sign for the parking area but there were other signs saying the spaces were all 'Reserved'. After asking, it turned out they meant 'Reserved for visitors', but how backwards is that? I ended up parking on the grass and meeting other people who seemed just as confused as we were.

Interesting and thought provoking sculpture set in an iconic Devon idyll, with rolling hills a fantastic view of the river Exe estuary. The concept of re-wilding is fascinating and will be interesting to follow as the bio habitats develop. The profusion of exotic trees and planting in the formal gardens is stunning, with colour groups planted for maximum effect.I am looking forward to many return visits to see the sculpture evolving in the different seasons. A good choice of organic food and tasty refreshments at reasonable prices. Finding the toilets were a challenge! Early days for an exciting project and conceptual art. Great day out, highly recommended.Libby Fry

Frankly, the worst art exhibition I have ever been to. If I could give 0 Stars I would. £12 entry is a beautifully ridiculous price. Save yourself an afternoon and go elsewhere unless you’re interested in inducing a self-existential crisis.
