We bought a car from this garage just under 2 years ago for £6000 and have just had to get rid of it. We kept having issues with the car, in particular it would go into limp mode when driving over 60mph which is dangerous, but we had a year warranty so kept going back to BT. I need a car for work as I’m a community nurse so they let us borrow an old car that smelled strongly of petrol and the fuel was nearly always on red. As we kept having issues we decided to go to another garage where we then had to pay £700 to fix the issues including having a new clutch. Several months later I broke down at work and RAC had to come and fit a new battery. Then in the past month on the drive back from Heathrow after our honeymoon the car went into limp mode when we thought this problem had been fixed, when we stopped and tried to restart the car it wouldn’t. We waited 3 hours for RAC to come and they found metal shards in the fuel pump - their initial thought (which is obviously only speculation) was that someone could have filled the diesel car with petrol by accident and then sold it before BT got it and it’s been corroding. We had to abandon the car where it was until it was towed and scrapped for parts. We have had 2 years of problems with this car, we have wasted so much money, and we felt the garage itself weren’t particularly helpful and didn’t take responsibility. I know this may have been a case of bad luck but since sharing my car issues at work, a couple of colleagues have either had their own problems with this garage or knew someone who had. I would never buy a car from here again and I would tell everyone I know not to bother also.

John is a Excellent car dealer.Doesn't push you in to anything.Nothings too much trouble.Hes fare and a joy to deal with.Reasonable prices.My family and i have purchased 3 cars off John in the last 3 months. With warranty and sent away happy.Definitely will recommend and purchase again in the future.providing his prices are still as good.

Bought 3 cars from here over the years and won't be buying anymore. The 3rd car sold with a 12 month mot and extended warranty.. had a flat tyre, the engine over heated while on a day out with the family. Took it to a local garage and was quoted over £500 worth of work. The extended warranty" isn't worth the paper it's written on

Bought a Honda CRV 4 years ago with 185000 miles on the clock for 1300 pds. They mot'd it, fixed all the faults, and now its done 220,000 miles. Doesn't use oil, and its a great work horse, also with regular trips to Brittany. Lucky buy!

Would not recommend this garage are happy to sell cars that are dangerous and should not be on the road and charge good money for them avoid at all cost!!!

Bought a vehicle that turned out to be remapped and had several serious active faults in the Computer. Also had previous DPF and EGR deletes rendering the vehicle illegal and uninsurable. Alerted the dealership immediately to reject, however John Lambert was far more interested in protecting and defending his 'reputation' and discrediting me than the actual problem! Denied the faults and problems in the face of overwhelming independent and manufacturer evidence and ignored letters like a child, and acted completely illegally by refusing/ignoring the rejection requests. I have reported them to Trading Standards, who have received all the evidence and are currently investigating.AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

We had been ripped off by a previous North Devon Garage and needed a replacement car quickly but had a low budget. John offered a good trade in price for the car that we needed to trade in. Despite the car we wished to purchase already having 10 months MOT, John insisted that he wanted to put it through an MOT so we could have a full 12 months. The tyres were quite worn but not illegal but he still insisted on replacing all the tyres with new. The MOT showed an omissions problem. John kept the car for a week until he had ensured the problem was sorted and re-tested. When I collected the car it was absolutely gleaming and John even gave me £10 for petrol! Will certainly deal with John again. It is a relief to find an honest car dealer.
