We came in late, got a table for 2 nonetheless, the staff was very welcoming! We ate 2 really tasty main orders, the onion rings as a side where my highlight. We drank the local ale, that also was worth the try.The real reason for the 4 stars is by far the atmosphere in the pub. Within minutes you feel all cosy comfy around all the others costumers, the staff is the star of the show, really. Give them a big, they deserve it, and it goes into charity! Wow!

The nicer of the two pubs in the village, though in need of a lick of paint.Great service. Basic pub menu but cooked well. Somewhat crowded at the bar with stools.

We stayed in Belford on holiday. The Black swan is a lovely pub with great food. It's suitable for kids too.

High quality food- amazing fish and chips - beautifully presented- crispy batter. Staff so welcoming even though we had two medium sized dogs with us. Lovely atmosphere- great music.

Whilst on holiday we popped in on Friday evening and was very impressed, the pub was very busy and friendly with a great atmosphere. The choice of beer was very good, tasty and well kept. We returned on Sunday as we had enjoyed our previous visit. We were looking to eat here on Monday evening, unfortunately the pub dog on this visit was very off putting. It kept having a go at the other dogs in the pub including ours, it also wouldn't stop barking, the bar staff were not that bothered and made half hearted attempts to control the dog. A local finally put it on a lead and we were able to finish our drinks in peace. My daughter who hadn't been with us on Friday didn't want to eat in the pub with such an annoying dog around. To be honest I couldn't blame her. We left disappointed and found an alternative pub for our meal.
