It’s a terrible hospital don’t ever send your kids or family or friends there. The treatment is horrible and the service is terrible. Don’t go there thinking they’re going to cure your ills

My mother was here a few years ago, and was treated very badly, myself also was treated badly by Josie. Josie was just awful in every way, very manipulating, there were a few nice staff but most of them were awful. One called my mother poison and also turned up the radio so they couldn't hear my mother crying as they locked her in a padded room all alone for an hour as she had just found out her mother had died, I would suggest to not let any one suffering from mental health stay here. I managed to help my mum and get her out of that place.

I have spent 3 months on the Morton ward, went in extremely unwell, but staff were incredible and helped nurse me back to health, they were very sympathetic and even at my most unwell they showed patience and compassion, can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for m. Usually mental health units are poorly equipped to deal with a person with my conditions but not only did they help with my depression, they also helped me in my recovery of an eating disorder, thank you all for everything you have done, I will never forget what you have all done for me. Thank you so much. Michelle boot

Disgraceful! This service doesn’t exist to help mental health patients, it exists to keep patient numbers down by providing such a traumatic experience that patients never, ever want go back! I agree with other reviews, you go asking for help & leave suicidal because you’ve had such a bad experience! When the crisis team are putting the phone down on suicidal patients asking for safeguarding from harming themselves & the psychiatrists are refusing anti depressants because you admitted to eating chocolate & “in his experience” depressed people don’t eat chocolate... the service is not for purpose!

They just don't care or help you they'd let you die first as u nearly did because of lack of care. And need better staff who have suffered depression in their life and will know How you're feeling

Turned up here the other week for an assesment, what a complete joke, I was called 'hopeless' by the lead nurse bleep holder but I think that was after she had threatened to 'switch off the cameras and call armed response', yawn. I was lied to by the creepy crisis team which is nothing new and I gave up wasting any energy listening to anything they have to say a while ago anyway. I had to stand outside in the freezing cold for about 6 hours waiting for a lift as I wasnt allowed to wait inside which for someone currently in the depths of agpraphobia who at the time was clearly distressed is just not caring at all quite frankly. Overall they never get any less boring and are probably just missing the asylum days. Can only hope they end up in one, I personally couldnt live with myself if I carried on like that.I think the best part is the assesment never got done anyway. If they spent more time listening and less time judging and assuming they might actually get somewhere. I think i'll stay well away thank you. To be fair tansley ward always was nicely staffed as well as the O.T.'s and recreation, cant say the same about any other department though unfortunately. Very anti productive way of going about things and I can only hope that they try and change things a bit really so they're not dragging others down with their own negative misery. They tend to get very defensive even at the suggestion of the CQC as well so i'd say they clearly don't know what they're doing the next person they do this to might have a very keen advocate or someone who generally strongly disapproves of this psychological abuse and it's probably just a matter of time before a few tricks of the trade come spiralling out of the woodwork.Perhaps a letter detailing the poor state of their practices may entitle them to a refund on their nursing/medical degrees.

i arrived in a mess, good job i was the only person in the waiting area at 1:30pm... My assessment lasted 2hrs which i was not prepared for i thought 1max. The person who did my assessment was very pleasant to open up to and I think all went well. However please dont mention exercise again to me in an appointment, i can bearly get out of bed most days. The conclusion of this appointment arrived via letter 2 days later and there was a lot that I found wrong.

‘Dr’ Simon Taylor is a danger to every patient in the hospital. He is responsible for the self harm and deterioration of my mother’s mental health. He discharged her when we begged him to keep her in, and then she came out and hurt herself and is still in danger. He clearly only cares about his payslip and sees patients as numbers and names on paper. This unit needs complete reform and new doctors leading it.
