DO NOT HAND OVER ANY MONEY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UNTIL VET HAS CHECKED INC BLOODS AND IF POSSIBLE XRAYS. You will never see your money again!Please be careful when looking at horses from this place, or anyone named Sam or Brooke. I ended up handing over £500 deposit as they claimed they had another really keen person wanting to see Ebony, the horse i was interested in. Texted me a screenshot of a 'conversation' to get me to agree to pay before i could call vets etc (this was on a Sunday night). It was indeed my choice and risk to pay up and it was stated the deposit was non refundable. Well when Monday came and i called some vets in the local area, only 1 out of 4 would even go to the yard to vet and recommended a full examination including blood screening for any 'substances'. All 4 vets warned me off buying the horse as the yard had such a bad rep for selling unsound and unfit horses. Had i not spoken to the vets, i would have gone ahead with the purchase as i was given video and had a live facetime with the staff and the horse to see her up close and check her for loading and handling, height etc and all seemed ok. Its only the warnings from the vets and other professionals not part of the social media storm that made me back out. The passport was a duplicate which is concerning, didnt state breed and Ebony is no full Friesian as i currently have one and know 6 others. Ebony may at best be part Friesian - so not really as advertised. So, be warned. Ebony may have been totally fine and almost as advertised. I may have missed out on an amazing horse, BUT there are many that have ended up with cripples and unsafe horses, having lost £000's.

I have brought 3 horses from Sam myself for my Riding school and have all been perfect. Not only this but 3 of my liveries have also purchased horses off of Sam and they too could not be happier. Don’t always go by what you read. Go down and meet her yourself. Very good customer service, good trial facilities and Sam is a pleasure to deal with with very reasonably priced horses!

I personally had a great experience with meadow stables. I was treated professionally throughout, visited more than once and took my own vet with me for a 5 stage vetting. I purchased my horse from Sam in April 2016 and he was just as described. He will be with me for life and I wouldn’t hesitate buying from meadow stables again. The yard was immaculate each time I visited, all horses had big clean beds and plenty of hay and water and the grooms couldn’t of been more helpful! There was no pressure to buy or to leave a deposit and I was able to spend as much time as I wanted with my horse!If you see a horse you like then go see for yourself and make your own decision. There are some beautiful horses there looking for great homes!

I bought my first horse from Meadow Stables in April 2016. I went to Sam’s yard to try several horses I had seen advertised and ones that Sam had recommended as suitable for a novice. When we arrived, we were all welcomed to the yard and shown the yard and the horses that Sam suggested were suited to my ability. I was asked which i would like to try first, horses were tacked up in front of me and led out to the school. Sam was very accommodating as I had brought an experienced friend with me who would also be riding the horses. We tried two but neither were quite what I wanted, just what that was I didn’t then know. Meanwhile my boyfriend had been talking to another horse in a stable nearby, he suggested that I try her. Sassy I had seen advertised but I hadn’t paid any attention as she was advertised as not a novice horse. (I was considering myself novice as I had not ridden in 30 odd years). Sam was more than happy to tack up yet another horse for me to try, and one that she had no idea I would be interested in or get on with. Suffice to say, I found what I was looking for and she was purchased. This, not a novice, mare has looked after me ever since. Some four months later I saw a beautiful lemon and white boy on Sam’s Facebook page. So another trip to her Stables, I stayed the whole day, rode the boy, who was everything Sam said, stayed and bathed/groomed him and generally got to know him, and yes, a second purchased from Sam. A few months later I once again purchased from Sam. All 3 are still with me, all as described and all doing fabulously. All I can say to anyone interested is, go to Sam’s, see for yourself, ask the questions and make your own mind up, take an experienced friend with you and/or get vet checked. Yard was clean, Stables and horses well cared for, staff were kind and helpful, horses had hay and water in their boxes.

Terrible place selling broken down horses only fit for knackers yard! Preying on Novice buyers who do not know what to look for! Many many leading to massive vet bills before they are put to sleep! Often within a few weeks of buying! No customer service no deposit returned if it fails vetting! Honestly be like Forrest and Run! Run! Run! Heartache and debt will only follow this place!!! Google her name if u don't believe me! Friends of mine were sold a horse of a lifetime that was dead within months!!! Sam and John should hang their heads in disgust! U have been warned!!!

I bought a cob from here. He did have feather mites and his feet were very long, as well as having a very long hook in his mouth because his teeth had probably never been done, but we have sorted all that. Had him vetted at their stables where this was pointed out by the vet, but was also offered the option to bring him home and get him vetted once he was home. He has lived up to his description and apart from clearing off a couple of times on the head collar to see his mates (!)ths was quite an issue which Sam said had been caused due to her letting him out to take himself to the field but not until after I had contacted them about it, this would have been useful to know and could have prevented him tanking off. Out hacking he has been absolutely foot perfect. I was coming back into riding after many years of not riding but am a horse owner with 40 years experience of having my own horses. I needed something safe to ride, and he has hacked out absolutely brilliantly. He was described as affectionate and kind and is certainly that. We are having to start jabs again and he did need shoeing ( blacksmith said not seen such long feet for years…) but I knew that when I bought him. He also has a duplicate passport which I sorted myself as was the best way to proceed but so does another of our horses and that’s never been a problem. Sam and Brooke have been in touch to check on things and were clear that I had a two week option to send him back with full refund if he was not right and between two and 4 weeks had an exchange option. Once out of that timescale, however, we have had no reply to my enquiries.

I first bought a pony from here, nearly two years ago. Since then, I have bought another pony and two horses.Immaculate yard, with beautifully kept and turned out horses.Excellent customer care, to match horse to prospective owner. Excellent trial facilities, including cross country course and a day's hunting if required, with as much time taken as necessary. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. All horses open to full vetting, including blood tests and written warranty.My horses have all been perfectly as described and I found the service second to none.I would not hesitate to recommend this yard.

We saw Carlton advertised online and made contact with Sam to enquire about him. Sam sent us some videos of Carlton in different situations (cantering in an open field, going through mud, down the road with a HGV passing him) which gave us the confidence he might be right for us.We visited Sam’s yard at short notice and Carlton was extremely well presented for us to view. We spent some time in the stable with him before he was tacked up and ridden in front of us by a member of the team. Both myself and my daughter then rode him in the school and on a short hack. The team were very friendly, happy and helpful and answered any questions we had. We felt under no pressure to make any rushed decisions and spent as much time with Carlton as we felt was needed. Carlton was offered with a 30 day warranty and open to any vetting. When we arrived to collect Carlton the following day (a Sunday lunchtime), the team had him clean and ready to go, and even loaded him for us, completely hassle free.Since having Carlton at home with us, he has settled in well and is growing in character. We have found what Sam had told us to be a true reflection of his character and ability. Sam has kept in contact to see how we have been getting on.I would recommend that if you are seriously looking for a horse to buy then contact Sam to see what she has available.

I've recently bought a horse from Meadow Stables, he is everything & more than he was described, Jenny was very helpful and honest and a pleasure to deal with.My new lad has proved to be an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to own .The after sales has been great from both Jenny & Sam and I wouldn't hesitate in buying a horse from them again in the future.Thankyou to all at Meadow stables.
