I came to Simon with a completely custom job of fitting two pickups into my lovely new acoustic guitar. It involved removing the previous pickup, covering the hole this left and creating a new hole for the jack cable. Despite it not looking like it was going to be possible at first he worked out a way to do it and it had been working like a dream ever since. Simon was great to work with and I'd highly recommend him even for your most precious of guitars!

Brilliant service. I brought my son’s electro acoustic guitar to Simon as the pick-up had stopped working after it had taken a knock. He fixed the problem the very same afternoon and charged a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Transformed my Telecaster completely. Crafted a new bone nut to fit, and a complete set up. Worth every penny of the very reasonable price.

I've been looking for a local guitar technician for some time and am really pleased to have found Simon Thorley at Magus Guitars in Bingley. I recently asked Simon to make and fit a new nut for my electric guitar, and to set the instrument up to my requirements. Simon exceeded my expectations and has turned a poorly configured instrument into a joy to play. Simon is a really friendly guy and a first class luthier, offering high quality workmanship, professional bespoke service, and very good value for money. I will be entrusting my other instruments to Simon.

Magus Guitars have now set-up/ fixed two guitars for me.One was an electric guitar that needed a little love. It was a great guitar to play but time (me) hadn't been kind. It was transformed into a wonderful player. Now my goto gigging guitar. The other? I was embarrassed to take it to be repaired it was that bad. An early 70's Yamaha acoustic. Genuinely thought it was only good for kindling. Yet again Simon worked his magic with a refret and set up and the piece of junk became an easy to play, rich sounding guitar. I was planning to sell it immediately after the work....hmmm...still got it and it's going nowhere.I've been playing for 50 years now and I don't have the adaptive skills to just play anything like some other guitarists. A guitar has to be just so for me to want to play it for more than a few of minutes. Simon did a great job with both. Cheers
