Coffee Evolution

The best thing about this place is its location, after that - its all very ‘average’. I understand that they are in business and their pitch is probably extortionate but their prices are generous for the product they serve. Non of the staff are over friendly & the cakes taste as though they have been defrosted that morning or are yesterdays cakes. I paid £3.60 for what turned out to be a very underwhelming Cinnamon Swirl. Buyer beware.

Drinks are ok, nothing exceptional. HOWEVER today I was charged an additional item of £1.20 for asking for a white Americano with hot milk added rather than cold milk. I questioned this and was given a shrug of the shoulders. No words of explanation.£3.10 is surely enough as is. £4.30 is ridiculous.My husband was more indignant than me & challenged them again. They tried to say we had had a substantial extra milk rather than a splash"

Can't beat the setting, the carrot cake is gorgeous, good coffee although I did have an extra shot. Good service without being overly welcoming. Prices seem too high

Awful service and expensive. Asked for the dairy free option that is advertised as I have been before and was told that they didn't have it, and another time they didn't want to open a new tub to fulfill my order. Unfortunately, my toddler now knows they do the ice cream and it's difficult to drag him out of the neighbouring park without him remembering it's there. Today was a similarly frustrating experience. The lady behind the counter said that the dairy free ice cream was hard to scoop because of the weather and was blatantly trying to put me off choosing it so that she didn't have to bother. She was stroppy and rude. I had to tell her we're vegan so if the options there we're having it...get scooping.She faffed about for ages piling on multiple scoops to a single scoop cone clearly meant for two toddlers. She used the same scoop as all the other ice creams and sulked when a colleague noticed and set her straight. I've been served by different staff each time been so this is not just one person that has been rude. I had to refuse the extras on the basis that £3.20 per ice cream was expense enough and I will be taking the kids for donuts up the road next time although it is tempting to return just to make them serve the dairy free option and watch them squirm while they try to figure out how to actually do their job.

Sadly very poor quality coffee – and there's no excuse for that nowadays - and priced on the high side to reflect their monopoly position in the Quarry! I can appreciate that staff proximity can be an issue in these difficult times, but they seem to take an age to serve even simple orders and the queue, even on a quiet day, is often very long. Perhaps they need some competition to improve their products and service?

By far this is the worse coffee in ShrewsburyTasteless, rushed and often napalm hot.Top tip. Have a tea or bring a flask.Pros. Staff are super friendly with the exception to the lady who makes the coffee and the Ice cream is amazing. However this is no good in winter when you just want a coffee that tastes like coffee and not burnt milk

Have been coming here for years for ice cream with the kids and although it's expensive the single scoop portions were quite generous. I'm not sure what has happened since our last visit but this time it was barely a small scoop. Not impressed and won't be using ever again. The Mr Whippy place next door or a wander into town from now on.

Asked if they could swap a scoop of strawberry for a scoop of another ice cream in the eton mess sundae and was told it’s too difficult for them to do and if they let me they would have to let everyone who asked. I didn’t realise it was so difficult to switch a scoop out but perhaps I expected too much from them . I joked saying it was my birthday (it was my birthday and i was hoping she would give a girl a break) and she patronisingly said that my birthday isn’t worth her job (I also didnt realise a switch of ice cream was a sackable offence)…. Ended up getting a refund as didn’t like the attitude of my server and got a Mr Whippy instead. I think others should be aware of the patronising tone of someone who thinks it’s acceptable to call everyone lovely (even though it’s clear she didn’t think so about me)…

Very poorly managed. The counters were covered in sprinkles and bits of broken cone, clearly hadn’t been tidied for quite a while, poor hygiene standards!! Asked for dairy free ice-cream due to a dairy intolerance, same scoop used for both ice creams with just a little sprinkle of water to wash it, found multiple sprinkles and bits of broken cone in my tub, which both contained milk lucky I realised before continuing to eat. Won’t be eating here again!!

Used to like coming here, however today I waited in the queue to be rudely shouted at by the Asian lady behind the counter. Apparently I needed to pay at the till which is situated before you even get to see the ice cream flavours. The lad behind the counter didn't help matters with his smarmy comments. I couldn't believe the rudeness, so I went to the van opposite.
