York Post Office

Poor customer service with a high turn-around of young staff and far too early closing hours on Saturday. The post office used to be in its own dedicated building with seasoned staff. Since this small shop within a shop" opened I've had multiple issues with sending items overseas. Staff are condescending and unfriendly. If I don't use exact terminology eg. "Global Express" they act like I'm a complete fool who's never used a postal system before because I said "next working day delivery". I work 9-5:30

The Royal Mail operation running from this tired wedge in the rear of WH Smiths is shocking. A staff member with long scraggly hair had less personality than a piece of driftwood floating in the River Ouse. If you want to be treated like a palooka by someone who hates their job, then this is the place to go. I will spend my money elsewhere, thank you very much

Firstly, the Post Office has no control over opening hours as published by Google. Most branches have standard opening hours of 9-5.30pm during the week, closing at 12.30pm on Saturday. Secondly, at least one these reviews was utterly vile with racist and arrogant comments directed at staff who were just doing their job. The post office network us struggling to keep up with the many changes in technology snd customer expectations. Please avoid publishing damaging and cruel comments unless you are sure of your facts. Even then, they can be made in a constructive way instead of demoralising staff.

Awful customer service by one of the team here. Who just didn’t want to help. You could visually see how embarrassed one of the staff members was who was desperately trying to offer me other places to get change- like the bank, who had advised me to come here. The other staff member answered questions with her back completely to me and could have been flexible but just didn’t want to be…. Didn’t want to go any additional mile. I’m so annoyed that I didn’t call her out on her rudeness then and there. Manners and decency cost nothing.I would give no stars if that was an option.

Very poor service received this weekend during a visit to the Lendal Bridge premises. I wanted to send a letter but was advised to go to Lendal Bridge from the main post office in Coney Street. Having arrived at the location I was informed by the staff that they couldn’t sell me a stamp to post the letter and I would have to complete the booking in the app. I asked the member of staff to weigh the letter to be told they didn’t know how to do this. I suggested that they take it to another member of staff to put it on the scale and confirm the weight. Another staff member came to confirm the weight of the parcel and recommended that I might be better going to Micklegate as the app is so hard to use and many people just walk away rather than trying to use it. Why is it so hard to find staff that are able to help rather than just turning people away and telling them to sort it themselves?

Although very busy, I found staff very pleasant & helpful. Got the advice needed quickly.

This Post office has the worst customer service EVER.At a Sunday about 4:30 pm, there were two queues open (one for money, one for post services) but only one cashier. The signage was pretty: Post customers to the left, others to the right.In the post queue, one customer in front of me got served. After that, there was a travel money customer exchanging 1000+ GBP in foreign currencies, which took forever.After it was my turn again, they suddenly told that the post queue is closed and there is only one queue now. Customers behind me had the same faith.So I waited half an hour for nothing. Please avoid this store, unless you want to rely on the arbitrariness of their rude staff. And of course, the self service Machines were closed despite them being highly understaffed.

The state of the staff is very bad, and the experience is very bad. I have to send a courier today, and the staff is obviously showing a state of arrogance and indifference.

Update your listed opening hours so that they accurately reflect your opening times. Two days you've wasted my time travelling for an hour here, absolutely disgusted
