Cool place to visit. We stayed in the self catering huts. Everything you need.Very beautiful surroundings. Also visited the museum, lots of history from people who actually were imprisoned here!Only down side is the rest of the site doesn't look amazing, bit industrial. Also the cattle grid at the entrance to the site makes a loud noise when cars drive over it. Hopefully they will be able to put some rubber underneath it to try and reduce the noise.

Only a short visit probably too late in the day. But definitely looks very a interesting place. Lots of potential for small businesses and refurbished Nissan huts for holiday lets.

Cultybraggan Camp near Comrie is well worth a visit, with an interesting museum focusing on its role as a prisoner of war camp in WW2, and a good café, which was also good value. The service in the café was friendly and helpful, including to the dogs. Plenty of parking and good walking nearby. You can access the River Linn, but the path is narrow and not recommended unless you're pretty fit and flexible. There is a wild swimming area on the Linn but it's best accessed via Comrie and the other side of the river where you can park close to the swimming area. The opening hours are a bit restrictive, only opening late morning so best to check. Not sure if open out of season.

The only preserved Prisoner of War camp in the UK, so much history as all the buildings are still as they were. Great museum and you can even stay in one of the huts (as we did) which are completely refurbished. Definitely recommend visiting this place.

We stayed in cabin 36 (one of the 5 self-catering huts on offer), and we had a really enjoyable stay. We booked through AirBnB and got a fantastic price for our 3 day/long weekend trip at the camp. The camp itself is so deeply interesting and peaceful to be in/walk around (ironic given its past). The accommodation’s facilities were superb and it was immaculate. We can’t wait to return.

The camp was very interesting with a museum funded by a German ex prisoner of war. There was a small viking festival on when we went which was ok, re-enactment was good but there were no activities or stalls to buy stuff other than a craft shop on the barrack grounds. Cafe in site was busy and had a good menu with home baking which was great. Worth the hour and a half trip from Paisley.

Fascinating place that is now used by local businesses and has a small cafe. We didn’t manage to visit the museum but stopped to look around and had a scone at the cafe.

Lovely little museum. Very informative and loved the personal stories of the POW who stayed there. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Honesty box entrance fee, but you can pay by card. Free parking. Would highly recommend if you have an hour or so free. The surroundings are stunningly beautiful and Comrie is s lovely little place to visit.

The day was peaceful, we had a good relaxing walk around with plenty to read and see the history that surrounds the camp. We did bring our own lunch but we had a cup of tea and a home made scone from the cafe. The woman in the cafe was very friendly.

Terrific place to visit and well worth taking a trip off of the main road to get there. We spent a few hours during our visit, soaking up the atmosphere and seeing the artefacts in the museum. No visit would be complete without a cup of tea and a sausage in a roll from the cafe. Staff were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Being dog friendly allowed us to take our fur kid along too.
