Emily Tarrant Makeup

I got in touch with Emily after searching online for local make up artists to give me a make up lesson. She was very responsive and emailed me lots of information in advance of the lesson regarding what would happen. When I arrived, she was really warm and welcoming. I learnt SO much about how to apply makeup to suit me, and now I understand why I wasn't getting the best from my makeup before. Not only that, but she made me look fantastic on the day - wish I'd booked a restaurant for afterwards! I asked for the step by step guide too, which was an optional addition to the lesson. It's really comprehensive and lists the products that Emily used on the day, and alternatives at different budgets. The thing I appreciated most is that Emily really listened to what I needed from the lesson, and how I wanted my makeup to look - so it was just right for me and not a default makeup. She was also good for my self esteem - although the reason I wanted a makeup lesson was because I was losing confidence in my ageing face, throughout the session she never let me feel that I had anything that needed to be 'fixed' - it was just about enjoying how I look and making the most of it. Really delighted with the experience!

Emily was just fabulous and I would highly recommend her to any bride looking for wedding day make up. I was honestly over the moon with my wedding make up and my bridesmaids looked so, so pretty. Emily made us all feel so comfortable, she was super professional, calm and kind and I enjoyed every minute of the pre-wedding trial and getting ready on my big day. Thank you for a really wonderful experience, Emily - you were definitely the calming mum voice that I needed on the day (especially with my mum being so far away!)

I cannot recommend Emily highly enough.Not only did I feel incredible on my wedding day, but the make up lasted all day and night without feeling heavy or cakey. I had so many compliments on it, and lots of people asked me how I'd kept it looking so fresh all day.I went for a natural bridal look and Emily used very subtle cluster lashes, which I absolutely loved. I could barely feel them on my eyelids but they look incredible in all the photos.My mum and bridesmaids were thrilled with their make up too.Aside from the make up itself, Emily was a joy to have with us on the wedding morning. She is such a calming influence, is very caring, and has a great sense of humour.Don't hesitate to book Emily for your wedding or special event. I had a 2hr make up lesson in July. I honestly can’t get across how fantastic it was and how much confidence it has now given me. It was so worth spending a little extra on the tailored report and shopping list. I actually enjoy shopping for make up now and have been so pleased with how easy and quick applying my make up is even with the additional products I have since purchased. The session was very relaxed, I felt heard and didn’t feel judged for the existing make up I brought with me. Emily has a wide range of products to try and explained every step of the process. If you’re in any doubt about booking a lesson with Emily go for it you won’t regret it!!!

I booked Emily, after much research, to provide a make up lesson for myself and a friend. The location is her home and feels super relaxed. We couldn't believe the range of make up she has (mind blowing!) and we both felt that we gained knowledge (learnt some fab tips!), the ability to replicate the look ourselves and understand what new products (as options) we should consider - she didn't even ridicule our current make up bags which were in some cases years old (oops). The best part...feeling more confident! 100% recommend.

Emily did my wedding make up, and my mum and bridesmaids, and we all looked fabulous! I was slightly nervous about having my make up done but Emily really listened to what I wanted, kept my look very natural, and ensured I still looked like me. From the first email to her, to leaving the door before I left for the church, she made me feel at ease and was always supportive of my choices. In our trial session, she was able to understand exactly what I wanted (with a pretty limited brief on my part), and her desire for a bride to still look like herself while feeling her best was so important to me. I recently had a 1-1 make up session with Emily. She was very friendly and understanding, and non judgemental on the few products that I had in my makeup bag! I learnt a lot about applying make up, techniques and the use of different brushes. She offered advise on different products which was useful. The notes she sent gave a good summery with a list of different products that she used and a detailed account of how to apply the makeup with diagrams. I can thoroughly recommend Emily!
