The Somerford Beefeater
20th anniversary lunch enjoyed yesterday 5th November. Deep fried mushrooms for a starter a staple of the starter menu. We came for Sunday lunch and enjoyed a sharing platter of lamb and beef with really good vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. A extra side of pigs in blankets. Lunch was enjoyed and we left feeling slightly stuffed but above all happy with the service and especially the food. Sometimes in this country customers and services are not great but thanks to all for yesterday.

At arrival you need to register you car registration. Seated fairly quickly and given menus, and quickly chose our meals. The restaurant didn't seem that busy but we seemed to wait for ages for someone to come to even take a drink order, eventually one of us went in search a member of staff to take our orders. A few minutes later a staff member attended to our table and apologised for the wait. We ordered one starter to come with our main meals. We didn't have to wait too long when our mains arrived, and then the starter and drinks followed. The food of a cheese fondue starter, turkey meal and a mixed grill was tasty and piping hot, albeit I got the wrong chips and when pointed out they brought in addition the ones that I did order and they came out quickly. Upon completion of our meal we asked for our bill and our plates were collected the same time, and the bill duly arrived. What we did notice was that another table had not been cleared after the occupants left and was left for a while. A member of staff came to our table and noticed a card for payment and duly returned with a card machine. The initial wait to order was a bit long, made more so because of the fact that we were really hungry, but the food was good. We passed by staff as we left but no-one said anything.

Having never been here, I saw a fab offer on cocktails so arrange a meet up with friends. We also had some picky starters which were very good too (halloumi was amazing!). We sat outside (not the best view as looks on to car park) but the sun was shining, and the food and drinks were lush!

5 of us went for a meal at lunchtime yesterday. Service started off excellent with drink and food orders taken quickly by the manager. Starters and mains arrived in good time. Food was fine.It then went completely downhill. The manager who was serving us disappeared and was eventually replaced by a waitress. Desserts arrived after a significant wait and all staff then vanished. After waiting approximately 30 minutes I managed to find a member of staff and had to go after them to get the bill. I paid at the till immediately and left. All very strange and it very much seemed like we had been forgotten about.I wouldn't rush back.

We had a nice experience at Beefeater, 6 of us had a family dinner in this place recently. It was really busy on Thursday night but the staff were very kind, friendly and attentive. Good portions, great selection of sauces, cocktails and beers. Reasonable prices.

First visit to a Beefeater restaurant, steak restaurants atmosphere. Good service, and enjoyable meal. Unusual to get t-bone steak, so impressive.

Highly recommended. The staff was amazing and helpful. We ordered mix grill and harddock and chips, both hot and fresh. Reasonable prices. Plenty of parking spaces. We will be back.

After a far travel we stopped in for our evening meal... we had a half hour wait for a table, not a problem as it was a Friday night and we hadn't booked. Service was great and food was lovely. Super impressed

First impressions of Beefeater were good, it seemed cozy and inviting. However, that soon disappeared as it took almost ten minutes for us to be seated at a table that we had booked in advance. Said table was right by the kitchen so it was loud and throughout our meal we were interrupted a number of times by sudden crashing sounds coming from that direction. Before we had even had a chance to sit down at our slightly wobbly table, which we had to fix ourselves with a napkin, we were being asked our drink orders. After having waited so long for our table, we felt seating us had been a bit of a rush. Since they had taken our drink order before we had even managed to take our coats off, we assumed that we would be treated to somewhat fast service but that was not the case seeing as it seemed to take a while for us to actually receive our drinks. Overall, our main courses were filling and looked good. Except for the fact that the chicken and BBQ Rib combo was presented with paper between it and the plate, this caused some problems as it was difficult not to accidentally eat the paper. Dessert was nice, but the brownies were not as warm as expected. We ended our evening being served by a lovely lady called Jay but even though her friendly service was the highlight of our evening we probably won't be coming back.

Service was exceptional. Unfortunately we didn't take the servers name but she had very long hair ( possibly hair extensions) and she deserves a merit for making us feel welcome and engaged. I had the king prawn skewers which was a lot more filling and tasty than it originally looked. Every one else enjoyed their meals and I'm told the sick toe pudding was particularly good. Recommended
