Redefined Dog - Behaviour & Care

We took on an 11 month old Patterdale cross rescue dog at Christmas. By the time Dee started supporting us in February we had a very unhappy dog. We had tried puppy classes, which were overwhelming to him. We had sought advice from other professionals, who had told us to stop playing with him, because he became so overstimulated. We were trying to teach him loose-lead walking too. We were being Bitten multiple times a day and he was unable to relax until he would crash out in the evening. It was exhausting to everyone. The first thing Dee said to us was that if we weren’t willing to put in effort, we should return him to the shelter. We didn’t and each session with Dee has made a difference. I’d love to say that he’s beautifully behaved now, but he isn’t. However, other people can see the difference in him. He’s able to sleep in the day. He doesn’t need to be crated when we go out. He no longer reacts to dogs or cars when we are on walks. We are even building his recall skills. Is it easy, no. Could we have done it without Dee? Not a hope. She is patient, kind and understanding. She gives simple changes, that make a massive difference. She has cared for our dog, so we could go on holiday. He had the best time! He is happier and more relaxed. She has a trauma informed approach, which is different to standard dog training and she can see the good in dogs that everyone else has given up on. I can not recommend anyone more highly.

Dee is incredibly professional and has lots of patience. She has worked with my very intense terrier mix and has improved her anxiety and food triggers and made her overall more confident and happy. Could not recommend enough!

We have had a wonderful experience working with Dee. I cannot recommend her and her training aka doggy magic with our staffy highly enough. Our dogs behaviour has improved greatly. I feel more confident with her when we are out and importantly our dog is happier within herself. Our dog also loves her and they are always the greatest judge of character!

Dee’s training has left lasting positive results on our rescue dog, who struggled to walk on the lead without pulling and was super reactive with other dogs.We now enjoy our walks and so does our dog, plus we feel confident and equipped to deal with any situation that comes up. An off-lead dog running over to ours would previously have been an absolute nightmare to manage, but no longer causes that feeling of dread when spotting an off-lead dog in the distance.What attracted us to Dee initially was how ethical and dog-friendly her approach was. We rescued our dog to give her a better way of life, not to force her into submission through fear like some outdated training methods suggest, and Dee is proof that there are more modern methods out there. We would recommend Dee to anyone!
