Daughter lived here for her first year at Leeds University. The accommodation is a good standard for the money. Rooms are large enough for a queen bed, wardrobe, draws and a desk. The rooms are ensuite and the communal kitchens reasonably well equipped.

Very thin walls so you can hear everything your flatmates do. The freezer/kettle and laundry were completely useless. The laundry was shared amongst 700 plus students and located in another building. The dryers barely worked throughout the year so you'd pay to have your clothes just roll around for 50 minutes to come out soaked in water. If you have flatmates that make noise past 3 am (im being generous) etc don't expect anyone to do anything even if you ask for help. You'll have to love with some sleepless night's. The accommodation is located at the bottom of a hill whoch frankly was the least bothersome part because i rarely took that route but if you don't enjoy hiking to class it won't be fun. There's more but I don't think it makes any difference to the way the place is run.

I like the proximity to university and city centre. Very close to bus station, need not to worry about getting around. Spacious and neat rooms, friendly personnel and great security service.

The rooms are a decent size tbf, the showers are smaller but you get use to it. The desks are really huge and it’s a 3/4 bedThe kitchens are nice but not enough cupboard space but it’s not a deal breaker, there’s 2 fridges in each kitchen between 6Some flats are more sociable than others 100% but that’s just uni I thinkSecurity is strict on noise and does shut down big parties if music is really loud but it’s quite a sociable hallsCan park and friends can park too which is a huge benefitThere’s a Londis just round the corner which is super useful but the walk to big supermarkets is long if you don’t have a car but there’s Morrisons and Aldi within 20-30 min walk, and you can always Uber backThere is a hill to get to uni which isn’t too bad, it’s around 15 mins to the main lecture buildings but it’s not unbearable like some people say (and I hate walking) .The staff are friendly and you can get post delivered, the maintence is usually quick but our hot water does break quite a lotCircuit laundry is expensive 3.30 for wash and 2.10 for a dry but the uni gives you £90 for the year (which doesn’t really last but helps).I’d say leodis for the money, proximity to uni and town is one of the better accommodations. If I had to chose it would be CM, CV as these are closest to uni and sociable. Carlton hill and white rose are very nice but never hear about much pres there

Extremely poor value for money. I had an ongoing issue with floor mould for the entire year too. Limited and poorly organised social events. Unfriendly reception staff (excluding the security guys, who always did their utmost to help despite only being contractors). The facilities manager is totally unhelpful, bullish and rude in nature. Laundry is outsourced to a private company and is therefore extortionate (in the order of £80 for~20 weeks). If you are looking for student accommodation at the University of Leeds, Central village is a far better bet as it is actually run by the University.

Good luck to whoever is staying in Block B facing Aquith House and Austin Hall. The students there are rowdy and loud. So loud that I can hear them from my room with the windows shut. It's minimally a 20m distance from the blocks. Management there probably doesn't care. Apparent theres nothing Leodis can do. I would imagine both wardens to sit down and have a chat over tea to resolve the issue. Imposing a fine would get the job done isn't it.

Let's get the good points out the way, of which there are few. The flats are of decent size and the furnishings, although very basic and low quality, do the job. This place is nowhere near worth the money. My room had a woodlice infestation all year round, despite it being kept clean. Management claimed they could do nothing about it as they came in under the door. I had a disabled room given to me, and the bathroom had all black floors and walls and the shower was in disgusting condition when I moved in. The table and chairs in the kitchen were such bad quality they naturally deteriorated over the year, and I suspect we were eventually charged for this out of our deposits.Staff come and go from your flat/bedroom as they please, with no notice given and sometimes coming into bedrooms without knocking. This is wrong, you pay rent for the place to become your home and your privacy should be respected, especially as a woman.Staff are so rude, the blonde woman (probably the manager) is an absolute tyrant. They seem to have some sort of vendetta against students and are really strict with punishments. The final nail in the coffin was when I finally moved out of the place and cleaned the flat. The security guy came round to check my flat and warned me of small things I would get charged for, for example dust underneath the wardrobe and some crumbs under the sofa cushions. I was already really tired and thought it was no big deal, so left the flat in almost perfect condition with just those issues. Lo and behold I receive only £60 of my £250 deposit back. It's an absolute joke, they shamelessly charge you way too much and dip into your deposit too at the end of the year for the smallest of things. I had the maximum student loan, and still struggled to live with the rent. If you end up renting this place, I hope you like having your bank account rinsed.

Everyone posting bad reviews has clearly not been to other student halls, all my mates from other unis and other Leeds halls were jealous that we got such luxury at leodis! 24hr security (shout out to Francis absolute legend) and hospitality staff were all really nice. We had an Incident in our flat and I cannot commend Sarah the site manager and the team enough for helping us out with that. I see what others mean about staff coming into the flat unannounced but it seems they must have taken on board previous comments as no one I know had anyone come into their actual bedroom without 24 hrs notice.Yes, there were silverfish in my block and that's why leodis doesn't get 5 stars but I can name plenty of other halls that also have them. Small double beds and nicely decorated rooms, modern kitchen with sofas and TV, and nice en suite compared to other halls of similar price. The events put on by the halls reps are always good too.Overall, both the social and practical aspects are spot on Leodis forever x
