The Mansion House of Kirkhill

Stayed at the Mansion House of Kirkhill this weekend. Was there for a stag party for a group of 22 of us. The house is massive and swallowed us pretty easily. The owner had done a great job making it COVID compliant and putting in all the necessary precautions. Rooms are all well sized and most have en-suites. Kitchen decently equipped with plenty of stuff. The main sitting and dining room are the main entertaining areas and they really made our stay because the weather was bloody awful and Sturgeon stopped us being able to go into Edinburgh. Hot tub wasn’t the cleanest, but after a skinful of beer none of us were complaining. The owner Dave was super communicative throughout and was on the end of the phone if we needed anything at all. Overall a perfect place for a large stag party and an epic weekend spent in the house.

The mansion is spacious and secluded, with a clean hot tub and beautiful grounds. Karolina and her team make sure you are welcome and have everything you need. Definitely recommended.

I am loving playing lady of the manor! This is beautiful old mansion with loads of charm and character. It's nipping clean too. The only draw back is that it's a bit tricky to find, but well worth the effort! For the 1st time ever I have a really peaceful hotel room with no light leaking in. My only suggestion would be a list of local dining places along with their addresses for sat navs!

*****DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE*****We booked this location for our hen weekend, but it had to be rescheduled because of covid then at short notice the owner advised us he’d double booked post lock down & our weekend was cancelled. Trying to be understanding of hospitalities struggles in a post covid climate of the a full refund was agreed but the owner has never paid, £3000 might be nothing to him but it’s a lot to us especially in a cost of living crisis. We’ve had to take him to court over this despite every reasonable way of attempting to resolve it he has agreed to and then failed to return our £3000. IF YOU DO BOOK THIS VENUE DONT PAY UPFRONT UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK LOSING YOUR £££

Amazing location and venue for my hen. The bathroom to bedroom ratio was very important to us and it was great to have so many facilities. Large dining table to fit everyone was ideal. Close enough to Edinburgh to go into town for the day. Everything was clean and working. Lovely big hot tub. Would definitely recommend for large group breaks.

So let's start of that the view is beautiful! The living room, kitchen and dining area are gorgeous and we're very nice for the wedding I attended there. Now the rooms are less than to be desired. Let start with the bathroom broken hot water fixture in the bathroom sink, mold everywhere on the tile, hair from previous tenants still in the shower Cobb webs shower basically spilled out on to the floor. The beds very uncomfortable. Blood stained sheets. Several rooms had many issues like smells broken fixtures and broken amenities. Left my dress hung up in the closet for the wedding to attend, but when I went to get it my dress was soaked! Lucky I was able to get it dried before the wedding. Overall I did have a nice stay but did not spend much time in the rooms. I do recommend having transportation to and from because it is quite a distance from most places and hard to get a taxi.

The Mansion was an awesome location for a stag do loads of rooms with loads of beds. Most rooms were on suite. Great games room, hot tub. Big kitchen with everything in it. You're well out of the way to not need to worry about disturbing neighbours etc. We had a great time there.

I have been waiting for a refund from the owner of this property since October last year. At first there was some communication and offers of repayment. The deadlines for these came and went with no return of over £3000. I have been extremely patient and understanding and taken into account how COVID-19 has impacted businesses. My calls and texts and emails are now being ignored and I feel that others should be made aware of the risk of booking this property. Our booking was cancelled and rescheduled multiple times due to covid restrictions and eventually we were double booked. It was agreed a refund would be paid and a timescale was set. I never got to celebrate my hen weekend with friends and family and then to be over £3000 out of pocket has made this even worse.

I arranged a stag do at Kirkhill Mansion and it was perfect for 22 lads. The house is massive, it has a big living/dining room and a pool room with enough beds for everyone. Furthermore it has a big hot tub and loads of outdoor space. The location is beautiful - I arranged a minibus to take us to and from Edinburgh for the weekend which I would recommend you do if you plan to travel back and forth. The kitchen is huge and it was easy to cook breakfast for a big group, with also two massive fridges for drink.The management (Karolina specifically) were extremely helpful and accommodating- especially when you consider we were 22 lads on a stag do. Overall, I could not recommend it more for a stag/hen.

I stayed at Kirkhill Mansion recently for a hen do. It was the perfect house for a group of 30 of us. The communal areas of the house were great and it has a great outdoor space for enjoying the Scottish sunshine (with a sheltered outdoor table)! The bedrooms were also great with a bathroom per bedroom. Phil was also very helpful on arrival and throughout our weekend. Thanks again for a great weekend!
