Lewes Road Post Office and phone shop

Worst post office I've ever visited. Rude staff. Will scam you into overpaying on items. Terrible service and careless about the safety and handling of the parcels you send. I rather walk an extra 20 minutes simply to avoid using this post office.

AVOID THIS POST OFFICE Rude and unhelpful staff. I got there with ten minutes to spare and they tried to tell me it was 5 and they had to close. After proving the time on my phone they posted 1 of my 2 parcels, then went off to argue with another customer and when he came back he said it was too late to send the other!

Always takes forever using this post office. Staff close shop early and always looks so disoranised and chaotic. . .

BLATANT SCAMMERSRoyal Mail website offers a 24hour service for a medium parcel starting at £4.79, the scum that work in this Post Office tried to charge me £67. When I queried the price, (the receipt clearly marked special delivery plus extra for guaranteed saturday delivery on top), they told me I HAD to pay as they couldn't void the transaction. I walked out and surprise surprise, paid the correct fee at another Post Office. I would review zero stars if possible.

❌I sent a 2nd class package to Birmingham, but after 11 days, my friend did not receive it. It was obvious that it had been lost, and when I sent it, the staff was very impatient. And my package was consistent with the official website regulations while they want me upgraded postage! I declined the upgrade service and the package was also lost, unable to check any information! A very bad experience!

SCAMMERS, Don't use!I asked for the cheapest option 10 times and over and over they said that the cheapest options are £30, £45 and £60. Then when I wanted to see on their screen they said that I am not allowed to look, when I looked anyway there was the option £13 and a couple more before £30...Then on my second smaller item they had the audacity to lie to me again and several times tell me there wasn't a cheaper option than £13. When I this time walked around they again said I wasn't allowed to look, this time there was an option for £3 and another for £8. I said I wanted the cheapest one for £3, they said OK, sneakily choose the £8 option and I had to tell them to change it to the £3 option... Really awful. Never go to this place!

I don't like writing negative reviews, but this place is run by people who don't care one iota about decent customer service. It's supposed to be open til 5pm, so I arrived at 4.45pm and queued for 5 minutes, before being told they were shutting after the customer in front of me. I looked at my watch; it said 4.50pm. There were 2 other people in the queue behind me. I mentioned they're supposed to be open til 5pm and I was just dropping off a return, which would take him 1 minute. The guy behind was doing the same. His reply it needs scanning

Literally the word post office around. The queue is always out the door and the service is just so so rude. My wife no longer comes in after they shouted at her

Awful service, staff are rude and opening hours are sporadic and do not match with opening times on website. I've also had high value parcels go missing when posted from here. One of the most frustrating post offices I've had to deal with

Always very rude and painfully slow..I usually go further away to another post office even tho this one is closer... save your soul, don't use this place... life is too short..
