Krav Maga Midlands Coventry Self Defence Classes

When I began training in Krav Maga I had a moderate level of fitness but no experience in any form of martial art. However, the friendly atmosphere of the classes and expert instruction of Bartosz allowed me to pick up the techniques much quicker than I expected. Each technique is built up in a gradual and measured manner, until they become tools that you feel confident enough to use in a real life situation, which the class also prepares you for. I can't recommend the classes or Bartosz highly enough if you are interested in learning a practical self-defense system that improves your fitness, strength and confidence!

I joined the Coventry class in January 2017 and it was a great decision. A fantastic group of students covering all ages and abilities and all there to help each other learn & improve. The instructors are professional and patient and the teaching methods are well organised and enjoyable. An unbeatable way to learn practical self defence skills and get fit at the same time. If you are thinking about joining don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.

Started krav 18 months ago. Really good group of people across all classes, every one is well looked after. All the instructors are great at what they do. Very easy to pick up with the way classes are taught. Well worth getting into for people who want to progress through the krav maga system, learn to protect and defend yourself or just to gain a better level of fitness.

I have been training Krav Maga for about 4 years now with Krav Maga Midlands and can honestly say that if you want to improve your fitness and learn some effective self defence skills, then you will struggle to find a more professional and friendly club than this. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and you can train in multiple locations and different days of the week which is useful if you're not always available on the same evenings.

Lessons are run very professionally, which results in you making progress quickly. Everyone in the class is eager to learn, but at the same time very friendly. You quickly build up a rapport with other members as you build up trust doing the exercises and techniques. After demonstrating the technique, Bartosz gives you one-on-one pointers and guidance as you practice, which allows you to perfect the skills. I enjoy the sessions because they give you a fun and involved cardio workout as well improving your flexibility (which embarrassingly for me at only 19 is not as good as it should be!). I have tried other martial arts, but I wanted something with a ‘real life element’ to it. It has helped me feel more confident in myself in that it teaches to you to avoid a threat from the moment you identify it. I highly recommend to both men and women of any age.

I started krav maga with kmm after doing last year's night park scenario. The club is excellent, classes fast paced with variety of techniques that can all relate to real life situations. The classes push you to be better and are enjoyable, stress busting and confidence building. It is a great place to train and sets goals to work towards. Having done Krav for a few months in Rome and nearly 2 years now with KMM, mainly at the Leamington Spa club, it was high time to try pastures new (ish).Russel Brotherstrom is the main instructor at Coventy and having trained under the tutelage of Bartosz (Chief Instructor) as well as relative newcomers Russ and Al, it’s safe to say that all have different teaching styles.The Coventry venue is in a very large and well lit room, which is ideal for both warm ups and the training as there’s a lot of running about and fights are very rarely static.Russell usually begins with a long warm up (ultra necessary due to the amount of exertion Krav can put on the body) and then progresses to training us in a new technique or revision of previously learned skills.You can ask Russ for help at any time, either on the various debriefs where we stand and watch him demonstrate moves on a “volunteer” or when he’s walking around as we practice.There are a couple of women in the club and it’s great to see this as Krav Maga was/ is predominantly regarded as a lads’ sport. Krav Maga Midlands is proving popular with female practitioners the more famous the club becomes, through the good feedback it gets from established members.Those wishing to take an induction can sign up online and try Krav out to see if it’s their “cup of tea”. There are usually special offers each month around the inductions and if you sign up on the night for full time membership you get kit including a t-shirt plus the 100% essential groin guard.There is a multi storey car park at the rear of the site which only costs a quid after 6pm (and was free the first night I went so check if the barriers are up).Highly recommended and a great way to get fit.

I was really impressed with Krav Maga Midlands from the very first induction. There's a great bunch of people who train there and they make it very welcoming for newcomers. You will also get to learn from some of the best instructors in the industry.

The best thing about training with Krav Maga Midlands is that the techniques taught are all based on real scenario's that you are likely to come across in the street.Bartosz is very good at running the training sessions. He is not only extremely helpful but also makes the training fun - this is the main reason why I keep coming back each week.I'm surprised at how much more confident I am when dealing with threatening situations within training. I am sure I will be able to defend myself if I ever need to do so in the future.
