Maven Dogs

Maeve has looked after our golden retriever over 3/4 nights at her home on 2 occasions and each time he has had such a splendid time. While we were away, we were kept up to date with his welfare with texts and photos which was very reassuring. Would always go to Maeve first when looking for overnight care for our dog - thoroughly recommend!!

Maeve has looked after our dog Ripley on several occasions, from a walk during the day to having her for 4 days at her home. Not only is she a great, reliable and responsible dog walker but as she is training to be a dog trainer she has done a good job with our dog and given us invaluable advice to cope with a very strong minded and energetic 1 year old springer spaniel/ poodle. My dog is a very energetic working cocker spaniel and he is 13 months old. Although adorable, he has some 'special' training needs to help him use his energy in the correct way! Maeve has helped enormously with his training learning him control and she has a fantastic understanding of dog 'language' and behaviour meaning our dog has progressed massively in all aspects of his training, this was important for us as appose to just sending him out with a walker. Barkley is so excited to see Maeve arrive and so enjoys all the adventures she takes him on. Barkley has also been on sleepovers with Maeve where he has been fully welcomed into the family household and been cared for perfectly.

Maeve is wonderful and our 18 month old energetic Cockapoo, Rui just loves being with her and her awesome dog, Buster. They have such fun and go to all sort of interesting places for walks and training. Rui is thriving under her care and we are all benefitting enormously from her advice and guidance. Couldn't recommend more highly!

We called in Maeve because our new, generally well-behaved rescue dog was prone to chasing deer. Maeve assessed us and our dog and devised a strategy for dealing with this which we did our best to follow and which did yield very good results. We have made excellent progress and would certainly call on Maeve again if we felt we needed more help.

Maeve has been fantastic with training our dog (and us!) She is incredibly knowledgable and its been helpful learning the psychology behind the training techniques, as it makes it all make sense! We can't recommend her highly enough .

Maeve was excellent with Charlie my Labrador from the moment she met him. Charlie loves to pull on the lead when walking and other training techniques hadn’t worked due to him being game rather than treat focused. Maeve’s training worked instantly and I even have people telling me how well behaved my dog is now. Thoroughly recommend her, she’s great.

We asked Maeve for some support with our new puppy, he is a large breed dog who will be around small children frequently. We were having trouble with puppy dominating our 11 year old son, she taught him how to be more authoritative. Maeve taught how to get our puppy to wait for his food until invited, how to handle him in a way to get him used to going to the vets. Maeve taught calming techniques for when puppy is too hyper and most of all reassured us that we were doing well in what we’d achieved with him as being first time dog owners we were feeling a bit overwhelmed. We will be using Maeve again very soon to work on loose lead training- I wish we had gone with Maeve instead of puppy classes as Maeve’s sessions are personal and tailored. Thanks Maeve!

Maeve has made the biggest difference to my 3 year old Brittany spaniel, rescued from Spain. She’s shown patience with us both. Before we met Maeve, my beautiful dog was highly anxious, reactive and very difficult. Thanks to Maeve, we are working through all those issues and I even get complimented on his good behaviour. We both learn so much from her and get so much out of our sessions. I could not recommend Maeve enough, especially if you have a more difficult dog. Thanks to Maeve’s training and strategies, I have been able to wean Chico off anti anxiety medication, which has made a real difference to his quality off life.

Millie adores her time with Maeve and Buster. She is completely excited when they arrive and absolutely content and exhausted when she comes home. Maeve instinctively knows dogs and reads them perfectly. She has helped me endlessly with ideas to keep Millie healthy and entertained. I have no issues leaving Millie with Maeve whether that is for a few hours or whilst we go on holiday. I know she is well looked after and very happy.
