I have had to use the services of A J Johnstone 3 times now and every time the service has been outstanding, with 2 repairs to my Canon R5 camera, and another to a Canon EF 70-200is II lens, all repairs have been done in a timely manner, communication has been excellent, I would be happy to recommend them to anybody looking for a cost effective repair or service, I have used other repairers previously, and had sensors littered with dust on there return, no such issue with A J Johnstone, my R5 sensor has come back pristine each time.

Canon R3 and lens attached required sensor cleaning. There were numerous small specks of dust, which were eliminated in just over 1 hour. Good service and 12 years experienced of doing this work. Less risky than trying yourself with an expensive camera.

Really easy service when I visited, full of knowledgeable people, and my DSLR's body had, what turned out to be a small internal corrosion issue, fixed. However, it did take two months before a technician could start working on my camera. once they got round to mine it was fixed up in a week or so.I'm not sure what situation caused the slow turnaround time (two weeks was the initial timeframe for repair) but there was no communication about this long delay and I missed out on photographing a few important events because of it.

Had my lens in for repair as it had fallen into water and suffered water and shock damage along with my camera body. I was advised not to pass my camera over for inspection as I had an upcoming trip abroad and the body was working fine. Was quoted £276 and my lens was returned 2 weeks later as the repairman was on holiday. When returned they noted that the zoom ring was rough/stiff and to correct that would be a more expensive job. Overall I'm very happy with the service and appreciate their high level of honesty, there were plenty of opportunities with myself where they could have made the job more expensive by and replaced parts that didn't need to be replaced but they didn't do that.

Would very highly recommend. Just went in for a problem with my camera lens and they sorted the problem for me within two minutes and free of charge! The man at the desk was absolutely lovely and very kind. This will now be my go-to place for camera repairs, what amazing service!

I managed to drench my Canon 24-70mm zoom lens. To prevent corrosion, I stripped the lens down to dry out. When I tried to reassemble the lens I realised I was out of my depth. AN Other Camera shop wouldn't look at the lens, saying over the phone it would be 'toast' after being wet.A.J Johnstone quoted me a modest repair price and gave me a timescale to fix it. Both of which they adhered too. I now have my lens back in full working order. Delighted.Their customer service is super friendly and all of the staff I spoke too were lovely too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I sent in my Nikon D750 for a shutter replacement. They had run out of replacement shutters, but still took the camera and quoted £248+VAT for the service, including return delivery (verified in advance over the phone). I posted in the camera for about £7-8 insured delivery from memory. I then waited over 4 months for the service, and they charged an extra £15 for delivery. Disappointing, especially after (a) specifically asking for an all-in quotation and (b) waiting over a third of a year for the service to be completed with what should surely be a standard item they should always have in stock

Top class professional service! If you need your digital SLR sensor cleaning, you won't find anyone better. Two Canon camera's cleaned in an hour!!!! A few steps away from Glasgow Central station, what's not to like?

My camera was sent for repair as it was not focusing. The repair was completed quickly and everything checked. David dealt with my repair and was professional and courteous throughout He was fully understanding of my case and the entire experience was extremely reassuring. This was the first time I have had any camera repaired. I would not hesitate to recommend A. J. Johnstone & Co for any issues you may have with your camera equipment.
