This is not true! It's understandable that the company will always defend itself but their explanation of the situation is incorrect. The stairs were built after the builder measured the area several times and on different days to ensure they get it right and they comply with the approved plan. It's after the stairs were built and brought to the site that we faced the problem and DK Design was contacted for a solution. They did come up with a solution but that involves rebuilding the stairs in a different angle. We had already paid for the stairs to be built and its because of the incorrect plan that we have ended up having to build another set of stairs and so we asked DK Designs to bear at least a part of the expenses that has come about only because of the error in the plan. At the end of the day, its us 'the customer' who is suffering, with additional expenses and delayed project completion, because of the error!Its normal for people to make mistakes but it's what we do when we make a mistake that matters. Blaming everyone else for the error is not the right response and not professional either.

If you face a problem with the plan, you are on your own! DK Designs helped in drawing up a plan for our extension and loft conversion. However, when the loft conversion started, the builders faced a major issue with the plan that DK drew. The stairs they planned did not work, as the way it was drawn meant that there would not be enough headroom to the loft! DK Design has denied all responsibility for the error and has in turn blamed the builder and us for not measuring before the stairs were built as per their specification! Now that they are not cooperating in solving the issue, the work on the loft conversion has stopped, caused a delay by three months and we are having to bear double the expenses for the stairs. DK Designs is alright for basic planning and in obtaining council approvals but if you face a problem because of their plans you are on your own!

This is the 2nd time we've used DK Designs for our house renovation. We both highly recommend them if you're looking for a great architect. Kirsty has been so valuable to us through out the planning giving us advice along the way and making sure things are done efficiently! Wouldn't use anyone else.

Fast, responsive to my ideas and worked with me to create a design of exactly what I wanted for our loft redesign. Kirsty and Dan guided me through the whole process including council approval and were meticulous in their follow up. Would definitely recommend :-)

As this was my first experience of commissioning plans and building works, Kirsty and Dan made the whole process simple and clear. They interpreted my ideas and vision brilliantly and also brought their experience and recommendations which contributed to a great plan.
