I'll preface this by saying I went to a pop-up/takeover event at this venue, so it's probably not the truest review of the place itself and what the resident chefs offer. That said, the venue is lovely. Very cosy, only 14 tables inside with a little bit of seating out front for nicer days. The event I attended was bookings only and I'd probably say it's best to book if you did want to visit, just to avoid any potential disappointment. It's right in the heart of Moseley so there's plenty of bars in the near vicinity and it's not too far from the city centre if you should wish to continue your night...All round a very nice place with lovely staff and service and I know they have regularly rotating menus so if that's your jam, give them a visit.

Visited for the Birmingham restaurant week special menu. Extremely good food, well cooked with great service and a great value wine pairing

An absolute must visit, the owner is lovely and food is superb. The chef is clearly very talented and the menu changes fairly often, so we have visited a few times over the last 12 months, and each time been incredibly impressed

The food was amazing, I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. Every course was perfect. However, if I could remove half a star I would, as we went for the wine pairing and felt that the glasses of wine were so tiny and felt more like a wine tasting. They definitely didn’t qualify as a glass of wine (pictures added). Overall we had a great experience though!

I visited this beautiful restaurant for my birthday with a couple of friends last night and it was AMAZING. The food was sublime, the service was perfect and the cocktails were spectacular. I can't recommend Le Petit Bois enough, go here if you want high quality, decent food, drink and service.

Finally been able to visit this little gem in mosley, had a great time there. The waitress/ owner gave us a warm welcome. From starters to deserts everything was spot on.I ordered from the new festive menu. My favourites are the French onion soup, ballotine of turkey and the cranberry crème brûlée.It was also my first time trying escargot/ snails and frogs legs both loverly. I think the images speak for themselves. Do pay them a visit.

Great food, drink, service & atmosphere, we couldn't fault a thing. The food was impressive & they made every effort to apapt the menu to being gluten free for me. The pork loin was delicately cooked & delicious. The kidneys were the best I've ever eaten; so tender & tasty & not at all offal-esq. The broccoli & almonds were a real treat too, I should have ordered more. The house wines were fab. The Viognier was particularly noteable, more delicate than Côtes Du Rhône which went well with the pork. The smoked G&T set things off nicely. The food is not 100% authentic Francaise classique ( that's not a bad thing if you've ever eaten in rural France) but without a loss in quality or flavour. My friend was equally impressed with his choices & the attention to detail of the waiter. The lady in charge makes the perfect host.

RUBBISH - AVOID !!!Went there today after booking online and paying £20 per person deposit. We went there as they advertised Oyster and Scallops. Looked really forward to it, however when we arrived we were told they had changed the menu from what what advertised on there website menu. I mean really? then how come they never called us to let us know, given they had my mobile number and email and we would have cancelled!= and not wasted our time.My wife decided we should give the a chance, so when she ordered a dish with Caviar and guess what the Chef came out and told us Sorry

It happened as a matter of persistence. I frequented Moseley Village during last year’s restaurant pilgrimage. I walked past the space that Little Blackwood used to occupy. I really wanted to visit that finer European diner. It unfortunately closed and a cafe replaced it. That closed and Le Petit Bois slowly materialised. Who are Le Petite Bois? Given the name, roughly translating to The Little Wood, it’s no surprise they are the same people that were Little Blackwood.I chose from the Menu Du Jour. £25 buys 3 superbly crafted french dishes. Each were delivered with elegance. One of the highest quality dining experiences I have had in Birmingham.I’m going to have to spend a great deal more to get a French dining experience that is close to Le Petit Bois. I wish you every success.

Delicious French food, simply cooked with excellent ingredients and executed perfectly. Lovely staff and friendly atmosphere. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer birthday lunch. Heartily recommended.
