Wakefield is starting to get better and better but this bar is miles ahead! It’s exclusive but welcoming! I went with a group of friends that had pints, cocktails and shots so we had a mixture of drinks that all deserved five stars! We were welcomed by the staff even in the times of a pandemic! They made us feel at home all whilst sticking to the governments guidelines!I can’t reccomend this place enough! It will become my new local solely because of the positive attitude of the staff! I am so pleased I found this place and would recommend anyone to go as it can cater for all drinking preferences! One of my favourite places in Wakefield!!

I hired the upstairs room for a leaving party and it was excellent! The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The room size is perfect for a small gathering and we able to use the speakers and had access to decorate beforehand. They offered a wide range of drinks for reasonably priced too.Would definitely recommend ☺️

Just ok.Had pre-booked a table for an hour and half and paid a redeemable deposit for each person. Got there 25 mins late as we were late to be seated at previous venue so it ran over, table of choice from website had been given up and they sat us next to the open door, when j asked if we could move the barman said no where was available as we were late to our table it got given up to walk ins! I thought the whole point was you had that table for an hour an half that you paid for.Shuts at 11pm.

This is a great bar.I moved to Wakefield at the end of 2019 – due to the Covid lockdown I still feel relatively new to the area and am just starting to explore the local bars & restaurants. This is by far my favourite!I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon – I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming member of staff who sat me in a window seat - I was alone so appreciated being put in a good people-watching spot! The bar has a tiki theme but the décor is generally quite eclectic– the table window was adorned with patterned tiles, there are various light up signs and artwork which pop nicely against the dark walls. A combination of the rich, stylish décor, and the relaxed yet attentive staff creates a comfortable and easy-going atmosphere.Locals have picked up on this gem – it was busy throughout my visit – despite the restrictions of covid (which the staff were being very conscious of and making sure that customers were following too). There was a real buzz and great energy picking up as the evening approached. They are currently operating with table service in order to minimise customers lingering at the bar. When I was ready to order a staff member came over and answered the questions I had. They were patient and happy to spend time talking me through their menu. The drinks – I started with the pineapple whiskey sour. I can’t remember the name of it but it was on the bottom left of the cocktails menu. This was a great first drink – it packs a big flavour punch – sweet and sour but you could really pick up the flavours of the whiskey.I find that with cocktail sour mixes you often lose the flavour of the base alcohol, as it becomes overpowered with the citrus. However, this was not the case here – they’ve really perfected the balance.Next I tried the ‘Nut My Coffee’. They use a hazelnut rum instead of vodka to create a nutty spin off on an espresso martini. This is delicious!Espresso Martini’s are my favourite cocktail, so I was a bit unsure about messing with a classic (there are so many dodgy coffee cocktail monstrosities out there!) but this had all the qualities of a great espresso martini – creamy yet sharp, rich coffee and a smooth sweetness in the liqueur, but then had this gorgeous hum of praline. Yum!I fancied trying what they had on draft next. Like their name, many of the drinks available have a pineapple element – which I love, but don’t worry if you’re not a fan – there’s plenty of non-pineappley options too!I had a half of the pineapple IPA. I’m not a massive pale ale drinker, but I like a little taster every now and then. This one is smooth and easy to drink – the pineapple element isn’t on the sweet syrupy end of the pineapple spectrum but more along the earthier mellow subtley sweet side.Next up I had a mojito - they have a great range of available flavours to choose from. Rather than a classic mojito served in a tall glass with crushed ice, this one is shaken with ice and served in a martini glass and garnished with fruit. I chose a blueberry mojito which was syrup-y and crisp. If you have a sweet tooth – this is the drink for you!Since moving to Yorkshire from Brighton, what I’ve really missed is the more creative/alternative establishments with an inclusive ethos.Whilst the Golden Pineapple has a great drinks menu, décor, atmosphere and location, what I love most about this bar is that it feels like a diverse and warm social environment that really welcomes anyone from all walks of life with a smile.
