W Carter & Son

We took a Rolex in to sell and although it wasn't a problem that they didn't want the watch the arrogant, know all attitude of the man in the shop, one of the directors i believe, was shocking.He was rude, arrogant and generally dismissive as he deemed himself the know all of all things Rolex. He used the 'we have been here 200yrs etc etc' but with his arrogance he surely won't be here another 200yrs. His attitude would simply change if you were buying one of his over priced Rolexs in the window.The poor girl who is left to deal with the customers whilst this man stayed in his ivory tower simply couldn't answer anything and was simply making things up, the man then came down and he was so rude, he was absolutely awful. What a shame this shop is now in his hands.Very disappointing experience and a complete waste of time.

Dreadful, a shadow of its former self. Wanted a bracelet repaired, after the person serving in the shop had been upstairs to speak to a jeweller several times we asked if we could speak to them directly rather than through a third person. The person serving went upstairs again to ask. The reply came back They don't come downstairs to see customers"!! Result we went elsewhere with a far better result. Clearly the jeweller can't get off their Ar** and speak to customers. My advice go else where these folks don't deserve your custom.UPDATETo be clear

It has been a year now since I first went in to W Carter & Son to have an engagement ring made. From the first instance and through the entire process, Paulette was extremely helpful. The prospect of proposing is more than a bit intimidating (especially for those of us who know next to nothing about rings), but I felt supported and reassured that if nothing else, at least the ring was going to be perfect.It was a bespoke ring, made of gold from my fiancee's grandmother's ring and my grandmother's stones. Paulette took the time to explain the various styles and options, and gave me plenty of feedback on my ideas. Though I know I was quite finicky and uncertain at times, she was always patient and her guidance resulted in perfection.Thank you Paulette, we couldn't be happier with the ring, it is an enduring source of joy for us both. One year down, here's to many more to come!

I had two rings made by carters using sentimental diamonds and both rings have suffered losses. I would not advise anybody to use them for making up jewellery if you are wanting to use valuable or sentimental items. It's too much of a coincidence that it has happened to both rings. I am so dissapointed as I have not been offered any recompense for my losses. I would not be able to recommend or use them again myself.

I am overjoyed with excellent service from W Carter and Son. After shopping around to get my grandfather's old signet ring re-engraved I was told by too many places that it couldn't be done. Luckily I came to Carters and was helped by Anna, who has exceeded all expectations. Not only did they get the engraving looking clear again, but the ring came back shining and looking brand new. A massive thank you to everyone at Carters, couldn't be more chuffed!

I was looking for a jeweller in Salisbury for a special occasion, but from looking at the reviews I will not be using carter and son. Your reply to Jo Williamson was just plain rude and ignored the important key points in her review. I agree with Jo that 2 rings is a coincidence and it’s more than likely down to your workmanship. I think you should work on your customer service skills as you’ve now lost a customer due to it. Hope others look at the reviews before using.

I used W Carter & Son for a bespoke commission engagement ring. I had them replicate a ring that was over 100 years old. All the staff were amazingly helpful. I spoke mainly with Paulette who understood every detail of my request and when changes needed to be made they were dealt with quickly and communicated clearly. The quality of the ring was amazing and the work that went into making the ring was honestly beyond what I ever expected.I cannot recommend W Carter & Sons enough. I will never use another jeweller. This has made me a customer for life.

My partner and I experienced an outstanding service in viewing and selecting a diamond of the purest colour, designing a bespoke 18ct gold pendant for it, and its manufacture by a jeweller. The knowledge and advice we received in the process was invaluable, and the result was perfection in what we were wanting made - a very special piece of jewellery. All this was at a very competitive price. Simply 1st class - this is how it’s meant to be.

Absolutely lovely & knowledgeable staff. I had my engagement ring resized here and there’s simply no one else I’d trust in Salisbury. It came back a new ring. Sparkly, clean and absolutely dazzling. The lady who served us was so proud of her job it made me proud of the store. Pricing was reasonable for a trusted service. Would not hesitate to use again.
