Preston Bus

To be fair, the bus station is undertaking renovation/repair & upgrading. In consequence, several platforms are closed & building work is ongoing on the station& approaches. Considering it's the largest bus station in Europe, there are remarkably few amenities. A basic cafe, drinks machine/sandwich machine. Basic toilet facilities. The station operates local & inter town routes. On the local Preston buses, no change is given by the driver, who issues a redeemable receipt. Redeemable from whom was not explained. In common with open plan termini, there is always a chill. All in all, not a particularly pleasant place at the moment.

This will be such an amazing bus station after the renovation but too bad there is now toll gates at the toilets (but don't let this bother you as there is still a free to-use toilet at the Preston market or St. George's shopping centre if you don't mind walking about 100yards). And yes to catch a park and ride, just get to the front of Guild hall and Bob is your uncle.

It's not just a bus station, it's a architectural icon from a brutalist design era. The renovations in recent years have significantly improved the user friendliness of the station. There's a good level of services providing transport right across Lancashire, and the buses I used today all arrived on time. I was pleasantly surprised to find the loo's open and clean. Though there are barriers in place asking for payment, so I'm not sure if this was a one off. Nevertheless less, I saved 20p.

I hate it. Its boring. And the toilets aren't good

huge bus station, the outside is nice but inside the decor is dated. a few shops and a cafe but not much else worth noting. i do enjoy the brutalist design and feeling

Very spacious place. If you are between buses you can take a nap on the comfy chairs. There are vending machines for hot beverage and the prices are very cheap.The coin changing machines were not working hence we were not able to use the toilet. There is a parking space on the upper floor.

An architectural marvel. Modernistic design. Pretty busy but clean. Staffs are helpful

What can 1 say about the iconic bus station, used to smell off pee & puke from the late night tramps, i mean drinkers, not been there for a year now that i moved away. It was in the middle of an extensive modernization, looked clear and tidy from what i saw..

Wheelchair accessible, food and drink sold in multiple small shops inside the bus station and Vending machines, friendly workers are there to be asked for all sorts of support. Currently down to 3 stars due to the heavy and disruptive restoration work being done on the bus station. Half of it is kept inaccessible by the public via metal fences and blue sheets covering these fences while the other half is open for visitors to see but not go near. This undergoing work has altered the areas to where your usual bus Would be, the timing of a few busses and also the entrances and exits look unappealing and slightly dangerous depending on the weather.Overall, however, Preston's amazing community is still very much a part of the bus station even through all this unsettle with undergoing construction and countless bus issues so a it's okay" 3 stars seems very reasonable at this current moment in time."

Has decent services but I think they need to make some buses run later as people still need to travel beyond 7pm on some services. Shame the company is not doing well enough to keep buses on normal timetables.
