I am a very nervous patient with a few bad experiences in the past. Then during a root canal my dentist left a small splinter from a dental file in the tooth. The error was found by a second Dentist after doing an xray due to extreme pain from the tooth. I had sought a second opinion. Both dentists saw no option but tooth extraction.I was very upset, and a friend recommended I see a specialist at Harewood. Here is where Ian Cross and the team enter this story.From the first point of contact which was from a dental nurse, I was treated with kindness and understanding. Ian was friendly, approachable and professional and from the start to the finish of the root canal treatment, I felt practically no pain and never felt rushed. Everything was explained clearly.I still felt anxious but the whole experience was made as comfortable as possible.The depth and position of the splintered file meant it couldn't be removed, but Ian managed to save the tooth by checking no infection lay beneath the small splinter of file and worked around leaving it there.Ian and the team have restored my faith in Dentists. I will always feel pretty nervous, but it couldn't be made much better than this!The beautiful surroundings certainly help to make dentistry as calm as it can be too.I would highly recommend.

Unfortunately, having acquired gum disease, I needed extensive and deep cleaning of my teeth and gums. The results are excellent, no pain or discomfort, the disease fully under control and a happy smiling me. At all times I was treated with care and respect by everyone. I joined Dental Excellence several years ago as a severely nervous patient but thanks to their patience, kindness, understanding and compassion my fears have near-enough been obliterated and I can now attend my appointments by myself and without being prescribed medication from my doctor to calm my nerves.
