I can honestly say that i've never met someone who loves looking after bikes as much as Greg @ Vanguard. His desire to offer the best level of service, with the most insane levels of attention to detail, is something you don't see very often anymore, in any line of work. If I want the reassurance of knowing my bike issue is fixed, there's only one place i'll be going in future.

Greg at Vanguard cycles provides an expert and personal service for all things bike related. You can tell he is passionate about helping and keeping people on the road.I signed myself up for the London to Brighton cycle ride for the British heart foundation. 54 miles for an amateur like me is pretty daunting. Especially when your bike starts making the odd noise or vibration when you're in training. A full service and a few replacement parts courtesy of Greg later, and I'm off and flying. My bikes rolling so we'll I'm cruising past people on my way into Brighton. Would recommend to anyone who asks 10/10.

Greg is a highly knowledgeable, attentive, diligent mechanic. I took my Giant TCR after a small crash, worried about possible issues. Greg identified the bent mech hanger. Supply issues were ongoing, we agreed that he would try and rectify the original hanger. Greg was successful and the indexing was buttery smooth after that. Greg also recommended, supplied and replaced the bottom bracket for me, when it began creaking. Both trips he took the time to explain to me the options and discuss the work I'd done and even trued my wheels. Greg's prices are very reasonable, his work superb and manner friendly and approachable, regardless of your own knowledge. I'll definitely be taking the tricky jobs to him!

Having neglected my lovely mountain bike from any maintenance for 3 years since buying it, it didn't come as a surprise when the derailleur snapped off. I tried out Vanguard to fix the derailleur and give the bike a long-overdue service. Greg has strong communication skills and kept me updated throughout the quote and service process. The derailleur, service and clean were all applied to a professional standard and I was delighted with the results. It felt as if the bike was as good as new. Took my bike to Greg at Vanguard Cycles for a service. The index gears were skipping some of the rear cogs entirely and the brakes took alot of effort to use. When I went to collect it, Greg took me through all the work he had done and he even fixed a slight buckle in a wheel I had no idea I had! On top of that it looked like new - all clean and shiny. In this life I believe if you pay peanuts you get monkeys but his service was very extensive but not expensive. I think he should put his prices up because once you see all the work he does, it is a real bargain at twice the price. It now rides like a dream even a couple of months on and I will definitely go back to Greg again. Such a friendly, knowledgeable, professional chap too. Thanks Greg.

Greg is a fantastic bike mechanic and just a great all round guy. He worked on my son's mountain bikes both of varying conditions. Both bikes are now is awesome condition. One bike was about to be thrown away but Greg has transformed it into a brand new bike. My son's are both really happy.Greg is also a fountain of knowledge and it was great to get his advice about looking after our bikes. He was also conscious that I didn't spend too much on repairs and found the best, most economic ways to repair both bikes.I will definitely be visiting Greg more often to get our bikes serviced with him.

Bought a 'Tyre Glider' tool in February. This worked perfectly several times over and was a bit of a revelation, having done battle with traditional tyre levers for years. Unfortunately, part of it snapped when removing a tyre recently. I got in touch with Vanguard Cycles and Greg couldn't have been more helpful in arranging a free replacement with some follow-up advice. First class service!
