Riverside Walk, New Earswick

It's a nice, quiet place to sit and eat your sandwiches away from people (apart from the odd dog-walker or two) and in the company of trees, grass and the river Foss. Because of the many trees, there's not much light here as you sit on the benches and that means not much sunshine. On a walk day, it's comfortable, but not so much on a cold day. There's a Tesco Extra a few minutes walk away so that you can get something extra to eat with your sandwich. And I suppose the place is good if you're a dog-walker too.

Peaceful with the exception of heavy traffic
