Leicestershire County Council is the county council for the English non-metropolitan county of Leicestershire. It was originally formed in 1889 by the Local Government Act 1888. The county is divided into 52 electoral divisions, which return a total of 55 councillors. The council is controlled by the Conservative Party. The leader of the county council is currently Nick Rushton, who was elected to the post in September 2012. The headquarters of the council is County Hall beside the A50 at Glenfield, just outside the city of Leicester in Blaby district.

Absolutely awful council. They think it is ok for a 6year old to walk 45 minutes to school and then 45 minutes back everyday and in winter too. There are schools near my house that are 10 minutes walk some less and can't accomodate an extra space for him although in catchment area. No care in the world for children.

I didnt do this 7 years ago because I thought it was just one of those things that happen.. but now they have done it again and don't care that my child's life is in there hands... she has been refused another school place in her catchment area.. BECAUSE SHE IS NOT INVOLVED WITH SOCIAL services.. and is not in a feeder school, BECAUSE OF THERE DOING THE FIRST TIME round.. they don't check your fourms properly to make the correct decision if they had I wouldnt be writing this.. they don't care about any child.. just the pay check.. iv have taken this to every resource I possibly can..

Today was my first visit to the council office for my kids school admission query. I really appreciate the support I have received from team available at reception. The lady in the reception tried to answer my queries and as where she did not have answers, she immediately connected me to the concern team. It was really nice experience. Again appreoate the good work and keep it up. I will keep sharing my updates here.

Absolutely terrible when dealing with children with special needs education and their parents . Son still not been to school for 18 months because they failed to provide him with a suitable school placement and he is supposed to be doing his GCSE's! .

PLEASE CAN YOU TRAIN YOUR STAFF HOW TO ANSWER THE PHONE. ITS A SIMPLE PROCEDURE, THE PHONE RINGS YOU ANSWER IT!!!!!!!! I AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE TRAINING IF REQUIRED!!!! Please do not use COVID-19 as an excuse as I am getting fed up with that now!!!!! If you are understaffed then take people off of the furlough scheme and stop trying to claim free money off the government. All companies are doing it putting staff on furlough to gain free money but a lot of the time it is totally unnecessary which makes customer service terrible. No wonder the country is falling apart.

I went into the reception to try and obtain some information and a contact in relation to my job and the lady on the front desk was amazing. Very professional and super helpful. I also thought the reception area and the grounds of the building were well kept and in result a credit to the county.

Very unsympathetic jobsworth attitude attitude on parking. I parked in a proper parking space while visiting an optician in Oadby. Was there less than 1/2 hr, but had to return later to a different proper space about 300 yards away for 2 mins to drop off a paper prescription. Left the motor running, and my sister in law in the car, and a warden issued a ticket without even talking to my sister in law. They rejected an appeal and said they would increase the fine if I didn't pay even though I sent them proof that the ticket was in error because I returned to a different bay. Had to go to an independent appeal before they admitted they were wrong. The enforcement authority is Leicestershire County Council, not Oadby.
